Oral Language
There are lots of opportunities for practicing oral language and learning through
play. They can roleplay being a chef, being a waiter/waitress and being a
customer. They could practice ordering and serving food and setting the table.
They could write down the food orders from customers. They can practice
writing numbers for prices, counting and using money.

Writing
Planet Maths Number Book JI and SI complete any pages in this mini maths
book. Maths games on twinkl and folensonline.ie.
Make up some simple sums when playing in your café e.g. How many plates and
cups are on the table 5 + 5 = 10
Gaeilge
Drama- Pretending to work in your play café and you could act out the story of
Gingerbread man in English or as Gaeilge.

You can do the actions for the different animals bird, frog etc.
Art- Spring Tulips painting- Put some paint onto a fork and dab it onto the page
to create a tulips and repeat using different colours. Then paint some stems and
leaves using green paint.
Paper plate frog- Paint a paper plate green, see frog template- paint legs green.
When they are dry fold the paper plate in half, cut out legs and glue on from the
back, add some eyes and a tongue and you have a little frog.

History The Gingerbread Man -There is a gingerbread man worksheet where the
children can cut out the six pictures and put them into the correct order and
then retell the story. They could also pretend to interview a character from the
story.
Geography Enjoy some more Spring walks 😊. Chat about all the signs of Spring.
