These are some of the phrases we have been using in Junior and Senior Infants throughout the
year. In Junior and Senior Infants the focus is on listening and speaking Irish.

Tá fáilte romhat… (You are welcome)
 Conas atá tú? (How are you?) Tá mé go maith (I am good.) Níl mé go
maith (I am not good.)
 Cad is ainm duit? (What is your name?)_ ________is ainm dom (My
name is___.)
 Cén aois thú? (How old are you?) Tá mé ______ bliana d’aois. (I am
___ years old.)
 Cad atá i do bhosca lóin? (What is in your lunch box?) Tá_____ i mo
bhosca lóin. (______ is in my lunch box.)
 An bhfuil ocras ort? (Are you hungry?) Tá/ Níl ocras orm. (I am
hungry/ I am not hungry.) An bhfuil tart ort? (Are you thirsty?) Tá/ Níl
tart orm. ( I am thirsty/ I am not thirsty.)
 Cén sórt aimsir atá ann inniú? (What is the weather like today?) Tá an
ghrian ag taitneamh.(The sun is shining.) Tá sé ag cur báisti. (It is
raining.)

mbord. (The book is on the table.)
 Cé leis é? (Who owns it?) Is liomsa é. (It’s mine.)

 Cad a fheiceann tú sa phostaer? (What do you see in the poster?)
