o Six not-so-obvious but oh-so-quick ways of amping up personal growth
1. Pause to ask what good and great looks like.
Before engaging in an important project or task, take 60 seconds to ask a mentor, customer, or boss (if you have one) to clarify the
difference between what good and great looks like relative to completion of the work.
2. Emphasize assets not deficits.
The next time you find yourself in a moment where you're about to face a daunting challenge, take 60 seconds to remind yourself of
all the assets you have working in your favor, like your strengths, your experience, or the support you have from others. Growth
happens when we build up from a place of possibility, not tear down from a place of pessimism.
3. Remind yourself that how you feel is not how things are.
Growth stalls when you're not in the mood to invest in it; when you think you've got problems to work through and bigger fish to fry.
4. Focus on being interested not interesting.
You learn when you listen. Not when you're talking. Before engaging in your next conversation with someone, pause for a moment
and remind yourself to be interested in what the other person has to say, not focused on what fascinating thing you could say next.
5. Listen to understand, not to convince.
When we're arguing for our point of view, we're often listening the least. We focus on trying to find flaws in the other's argument and
statements to refute rather than keeping an open mind and trying to learn something from the other's perspective.
6. Start your week with three "What's."
Before you start work on Monday, when you get to your desk (or wherever it is that you work), ask yourself three "What" questions
and quickly answer them accordingly. I've found you can do this in 60 seconds. Here are the self-inquiries: "What do I need to learn
this week to advance my business/professional goals?", "What do I want to learn to advance my cause?" (your higher order
purpose), "What am I interested to learn to feed my curiosity?" In one minute you've prioritized your learning goals for the week!

Custom Scrunchie Invented by FSU Grad
A startup founded by a recent Florida State (https://www.fsu.edu/) graduate and his sister has invented a product to help reduce drink spiking.
NightCap is a protective drink cover disguised as a hair scrunchie that can be worn on the wrist.
It fits snugly over most glasses or cups and has a pre-cut space for straws.
With two pitch-competition wins under its belt, the startup is generating buzz and intrigue as a simple but potentially effective product.
The Benarde siblings hope it will be picked up by advocacy groups, bars and others looking to make a dent in a persistent issue...

We have some exciting news brewing in Florida’s capital! The Office of Economic Vitality is pleased to announce the newest effort
to promote Tallahassee-Leon County as the Magnetic Capital of the World, Electro-Magnetic Bitter.
We have collaborated with DEEP Brewing Company and the Tallahassee Beer Society in honor of the National High Magnetic Field
Laboratory. Deep Brewing Company is hosting a launch event on Saturday, February 29, starting at 11 a.m., and we are pleased to
celebrate our community’s unique place in the Applied Science, Technology and Manufacturing sectors.
A huge congratulations to ACT House for officially being named a Techstars company! ACT House is a Tallahassee, Florida-based
incubation facility which “combines affordable housing and innovation amenities in a co-living model to accelerate the creation of
minority-owned ventures.
They will be participating in a 3-month cohort that will provide mentorship from subject matter experts, experienced entrepreneurs,
corporate executives, and others, as well as funding access.
"Matt Farrar and Joe Clements met in 2013 while working on a special election campaign for a state House seat in Pasco County.
Their candidate lost, but the two young Republican consultants stayed in touch, bonding over a mutual interest in social media
marketing.
A year later, they founded Strategic Digital Services, an online marketing firm focused on politics and public affairs. Initially, they
struggled to persuade state legislative campaigns to spend money advertising on Facebook, Google, and other online platforms..."
Yuh-Mei Hutt, President of Golden Lighting and Board Chair of Domi Station, is asking Tallahassee residents to express their love
for the city while encouraging change for a brighter future.
Golden Lighting is sponsoring “Light the Way”, an essay contest to identify, inspire, and empower potential and existing local
leaders. The grand-prize winner of “Light the Way” essay contest will win a trip to the SU Global Summit this June in Los Angeles,
California.

After leaving his Economics program in graduate school to pursue his software engineering and entrepreneurial dreams, Ashton
found himself attending local events where he’d meet like-minded startup founders. While these interactions were valuable, he
found it to be tedious and time-consuming to exchange contact information and reach out afterwards. He’d end up with handfuls of
business cards only to spend hours frustratingly entering their information into his phone. This is where the idea for Let’s Connect
was born!
Now that Ashton is working on something that he is truly passionate about, he’s much happier and more motivated to continue
following his dream. As an entrepreneur, he values the complete control that he has over his time and the opportunities he has
gotten to learn about programming, building a startup, and launching and running a business.
“I’m growing every day, both professionally and personally, and I’m enjoying the journey.” If you’re interested in connecting with
Ashton, feel free to drop by Domi to chat or reach out to him on your preferred platform. He’s always up for feedback during the
developing stages of building his app!

Based on the most recent guidance from public health officials, other education organizations, and communities around the country,

o This week our ✨Entrepreneur Spotlight✨ is 24-year-old Ibrahim Bilau! Ibrahim is a member of Domi’s Ascend program and he is in
the process of developing a real estate platform called “Realtourhub.” Realtourhub is democratizing 3D tours of real estate assets
and spaces by making them easily accessible to everyone, which makes experiencing new spaces more immersive for everyone
involved! Whether you’re a homeowner, a realtor, or simply someone going through the process of hunting for a new living space,
Realtourhub is meant for you.
Ibrahim’s idea for Realtourhub emanated from the fact that Real estate is the largest asset class in the world, yet it’s still plagued by
inefficient showcasing mediums, such as pictures and videos. Oftentimes, these two mediums can be very deceiving and they have
made the home buying and selling process slower than it should be. By tracing these issues and inefficiencies of real estate down to
the root cause, Ibrahim has found a solution on how the stakeholders can easily have access to 3D tours online and experience
properties more comfortably.
Ibrahim has considered himself an entrepreneur for a few years now, venturing into diverse fields like construction, real estate, and
agribusiness which have all given him the leverage to bootstrap Realtourhub. On top of that, he has begun to understand that great
things take time and that life is a classroom in continuum. When asked if he has a favorite part of running his own company, Ibrahim
said “yes I do! I enjoy the leadership and strategy part. I believe my key strengths are those two areas and I’ve been trying to
improve on that as well as every other key area of running a profitable startup.”

We will probably remember March 2020 as a key milestone for ourselves, our businesses and the communities we call home.
As a community of innovators and entrepreneurs, we see this challenge as an opportunity to adapt, to create, and most importantly,
to take care of each other.
Because of COVID-19, we might have increased restrictions to interact in person, but we are not ceasing to operate as a
community. We vow to rise to this challenge to leverage technology and find innovative ways to support our entrepreneurs, remote
