    “Religion and Criminal Law in Iran”


    This lecture elucidates the status of criminal law and the Penal Code in the
    lranian Legal System. To this end, the development of Iranian post-
    revolutionary criminal punishment under the influence of religion and the
    classification of crimes (criminalization theory) and the classification of
    punishment (penal typology) in Sharia will be discussed.
