When talking about wild animals what usually comes to your mind?

A bear, lion, or even a

tiger just the usual stuff but there are many more types of wild animals. For example, the
Canadian Lynx their species is not the most populated one since they are endangered. Even
though they are called Canadian Lynx they don’t just live in Canada.
Where do the Canadian Lynx live? According to https://defenders.org/canada-lynx/basic-
facts “Lynx can be found throughout much of the boreal forest of Alaska and Canada. The
southern portion of their range has historically extended into the U.S. into the northern Rocky
Mountains/Cascades, southern Rockies, Great Lakes states and the Northeast. Today, in the
Lower-48 states they are known to have sustained breeding populations in Montana,
Washington, Maine, and Minnesota and have been reintroduced to Colorado. This tell me that
not only do they live in Canada they also live all over the United States where the climate is cold
and snowy just the perfect place for them to live.

The population of the Canadian Lynx is very low since they are endangered. According to
https://defenders.org/canada-lynx/basic-facts “Lynx-populations in the lower 48 continually ebb
and flow due to prey populations and related periodic movements from Canada; therefore it is
difficult to have an accurate estimate. Yet overall, in the lower 48, lynx populations can currently
be generalized as quite low and substantially reduced from historical levels.” This-shows how
extremely low their population is and in a few years they might go extinct. Why are the Canadian
Lynx endangered? According to https://defenders.org/canada-lynx/threats “ Their habitat was
also impacted by decades of timber management on federal lands without any guidance from
federal agencies to conserve lynx (and snowshoe hare) habitat, until finally, in the last two
decades, federal steps were taken to protect lynx and their habitat” This just shows how badly we
have impacted their habitat and if we don’t stop the Canadian Lynx can become extinct and-then
we won’t have-these amazing animals living in our Earth.

In conclusion-the Lynx-is-a beautiful-animal-that lives all around the United States and population
is way to low and if because of deforestation they will most likely go extinct. So how about we try
to preserve these mesmerizing creatures?
