Hypothesis-

1. It is believed that there is only one broom in Karbi-Anglong

district that is soft broom.
2. Middle man are farmers or the person who sale product in behalf
of farmer.
Genesis of Problem-
Brooms is an important minor forest produce that grows in the wild area of Karbi-
Anglong. It is an important non timber forest resource. The cultivation of broom is
a good profitable enterprise. It is a perennial, high value, non-perishable cash crop
and has great economic potentialities in the economy especially in hilly areas.
Karbi-Anglong is famous for broom business. Many people plant it in their field.
So, it is obvious that any one can see easily broom plant. By this scenario, it pops
into my head that what is the “Marketing of Brooms in Karbi-Anglong”.
Scope of study-
The study is limited to Diphu area in Karbi-Anglong district of assam. The study is
limited to soft broom plant which name is Thysanolaena (a genus of plants in the
grass family, the only genus in the tribe Thysanolaeneae. Karbi-Anglong district is the
highest producer of grass broom in India.
