 Eduardo Galeano argue that “The purpose of torture is not getting information, it’s spreading
fear”. So in the way I see it this method becomes a one destructive and inappropriate people
without the right to a lawyer.

In the first place the speaker’s point of view in the video about “How to stop torture” is that here
is an incredible window of opportunity for us as a world community to come together and end
torture as an investigative tool.Moreover Karen Tse is arguing that 95 percent of torture today is
not for political prisioners , it’s for people who are broken-down legal systems and torture is the
cheapest form of investigation , it’s cheaper than having legal system and a lawyer.Karen Tse
believe that if we want to end torture as an investigative tool in our lifetime as a world
community , it will be possible buit will require basic things as: making decisions , coming
together as a community , training , empowerment, connection of defenders worldwide, insuring
that there is a systematic early acces to counsel and commitment.The speaker want me to belive
that we can and have a great possibility to end with torture , and this dream must be realized.For
example I believe in it , because Karen Tse founded International Bridges to Justice which has a
specific mission of ending torture as an investigative tool and implementing due process rights in
the 93 countries by placing trained lawyers at an early stage in the police station and courtrooms.

Actually for me it doesn’t matter if speaker was pretty convincing to me,because the topic
already has shown its importance in life , but practically it has a convincing idea , such as
example can be the case when a woman who was a vegetable seller , she was sitting outside of a
house she said that she actually saw the person run out with stolen jewelry , but the police came ,
they got her , there was nothing on her.At the time she was pregnant , she had cigarette burns on
her , she had miscarried and when they brought her case to the judge ,for the first time he stood
up and he said “Yes, there’s no evidence except for your torture confession and you will be
released”.
