Community Service Reflection

With whom did you work during your community service?
During my community service, I worked with Hayley Huff. She was teaching 3rd graders and I
would go in every day it was very nice and I enjoyed spending time with the kids.
Why did you choose this community service activity (or activities)?
The reason I chose this community service activity was because I enjoy being around little kids
and being able to help them, and two it was a little distraction for me so I wouldn’t always be
couped up in my house.
What did you learn about the organization, company, or business during your participation?
During my participation in helping out 3rd graders, I learned to have a lot of patience because
3rd graders are a handful. But I also learned how to be more responsible because when you are
watching over 3rd graders you always have to be careful.
How does your community service connect to any of the following: your career interests,
personal interests, academic achievement, and/or targeted soft skills?
This community service connects to my career interest because I want to be a pediatrician for
kids, and just being around kids makes me realize why I want to help kids when they get sick or
injured. They are so cute and innocent.
