Maintaining a healthy environment is an

effort to prevent disease and / or health problems

from environmental risk factors to create a
healthy environmental quality from physical,
chemical, biological, and social aspects. The
quality of health starts from the environmental
health which is determined through the
achievement or fulfillment of Environmental
Health Standard Standards and Health
Requirements.

The emergence of diseases or health

problems starts from an unhealthy environment,
so we must keep the environment healthy. A
healthy environment is an environment where
Environmental Health Standards are met.
According to Government Regulation number 6 of
2014 concerning environmental health that
environmental health quality standards are set
on environmental media such as water, air, land,
food, facilities and buildings as well as vectors
and disease-carrying animals. The environment
that needs to be kept healthy includes
Settlements, Workplaces, recreation areas, and
public places and facilities.

We all must participate in realizing

environmental health. Creating a healthy
environment is not an obligation of individuals,
government or private institutions, but we must
all move to realize it without relying on each
other both in the neighborhood, workplace,
recreation areas, and other public places and
facilities. With the motto "start from yourself" we
move the culture of maintaining cleanliness in
every environment. We begin to realize the
importance of protecting the environment after
an illness strikes us or when a disaster occurs.
Dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) is one of the
effects of our negligence in protecting the
environment and flooding is a result of our
throwing garbage into the river.

Dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) in 2014 to

mid-December recorded DHF sufferers in 34
provinces in Indonesia as many as 71,668
people, and 641 of them died. (Source:
kemkes.go.id).

The floods that occurred in Jakarta were

caused by garbage reaching 3350 tons. (Source:

Infant deaths due to cigarette smoke

reached 240,618 people. If this increases
compared to the same study in 2010 which
recorded premature mortality due to smoking-
related diseases of 190,260 babies. (Eko

It's clear, that the environment is very big

impact on our health. There are many ways to
always keep the environment clean and healthy.

Manage rubbish
Disposing of trash in its place, not throwing
garbage into the river;

Classifying organic and inorganic waste;

Burying organic waste to improve soil quality;
Organic waste is burned before being buried in
the ground.

Greening

Utilizing home yards by making a live pharmacy;

Planting trees in the yard

Clean friday
Maintain river water sanitation. Do not pollute
river flow with hazardous chemicals (for small,
medium and large companies).

Obey the government regarding prohibition of

shop in public places, namely Law No. 32 of 2010
(for smokers) Smoking not in public places;

Do not smoke near babies;

Make smoking areas at work.

Of all the above methods will not be

implemented if everyone's awareness of the
importance of his health is lacking. Do not let us
be aware after the disease that attacks us, see
the child lying rigid in the hospital. "Starting from
yourself" is a motto that must be instilled by
everyone in an effort to protect the environment.
With the habit of maintaining the environment in
a disciplined manner, it will create a strong
character for us, further entrenching every
person in this country in treating the
environment so that it is always healthy.

So it is very important for us to create a

healthy environment so that we are all free from
disease. In a healthy condition, we will be ready
to face and compensate for this era of very rapid
globalization. The health factor will be very
important in facing the progress of the times so
that we can realize our dreams in the future.
