Evaluation.

In this evaluation I will be looking at the work that I have produced and the work I
have produced in a group. I will be evaluating the work on how successful it was
in helping my understanding of making a product and the actual making of the
product. I will first look at section A and how that helped me understand the
conventions of a genre and what goes into making a product.
The work that I produced in section A allowed me to look into what makes a
genre that genre, such as for horror a convention of that is blood and gore, this is
known to be a part of that genre so the audience will know what genre the film or
TV series is. I mainly looked into the horror genre as this is what I wanted my
product to be. I also looked into other genres as this allowed me to know not
what to put into my product.
Through this I learned that while some features will overlap in genres there are
specific way in which these can be shown to show the genre, such as blood, it can
be shown in many genres but the way the blood is presented will show the genre,
like a bullet wound would fit in more with the action genre where as a limb being
cut off would link into horror as it could be from a torcher from the villain.
In this section I also looked into the different productions of different scale budget
productions, this allowed me to identify what made them successful and how
they were able to do this. Looking at the pre-production documents for these
productions allowed me to identify what I should do for my production and what
would work for my production. Seeing the different levels of the production
allowed me to understand what works for every type of budget, this allowed me
to take techniques from each budget to use when creating my own pre-
production documents.
I believe that this was all key information for me to learn to create my product as
if I had not learnt this information then I would not have been able to create the
documents that are needed when creating a product. Without learning this
information they documents I would have created would have conveyed the
wrong information which would have led to creating a product that would not link
to the genre and would also not be the best product I would be able to make.
Section B/C was also important in the creation of my product as this was the
section for my pre-production documents, this was done in a group as the
creation of a product is rarely a one person job, this also allowed the work to be
distributed evenly and also allow the input of other people in the group to create
the best product possible. The detail in the documentation allowed for the best
product as it informs the group on what needs to happen in order for the product
to be created, if there is little detail then there is a larger room for error which is
the opposite of what is wanted.
The development of the product can be seen through the documentation as the
documentation will ultimately lead to what the product will be, from learning in
section A I knew what was important to be in the documents, this allowed the
development of the product to be smooth and make the product ultimately
better.
Each document was created by a member of the group and was then looked at by
the whole group to evaluate the document to see if any other information was
needed or if information needed to be changed. While this was a loner process it
allows for a better product over all.
The pre-production documents are important in making the product as without
the documents to follow the production would fall apart and the product would
not be able to be made as the crew and cast would not know what they have to
do. This would hinder the product and not create the best product possible.
The documents are a key part of the making of the product as the documentation
will allow ideas to be conveyed and developed into a product, without this
process an idea can become a product but will not be the best version that it
could be, with the documentation it would allow the idea to be developed into
something that can be created and it will allow for a budget to be created and if
the product will be under or over the budget, ideally being under the budget.
Section B/C was important in the making of the product as without this section
the product would not have been able to be created as the pre-production
documentation created the development for the product, without the
development the product would not be the best product it can be.
Overall both sections were important in the making of the product and the
understanding of the making of the product. Without learning from section A I
would not have been able to create the best section B/C to create the best
product
