The Orinoco is one of the longest rivers in South America at 2,140 kilometers with 76.

3 percent of
it in Venezuela.

The Orinoco is one of the most important and abundant rivers on the world. There is a big wildlife
as the anaconda, the caiman, piranha and the amazon dolphin. Also, this river there are myths and
legends.

When I went for the first time to Ciudad Bolivar, i was at a restaurant with my parents, I hear a
men talk about a monster.

I said; hey men, can you tell me more about it? I wanna know about that

And he tells me; oh yeah, of course. You should take a chair.

Well, in the Orinoco river, there is a big rock in middle named “piedra del Medio” between Ciudad
Bolivar and Soledad. Under the rock, live a mysterious creature, the people say it’s a big snake. All
agree that the monster has seven (7) heads and. The monster lives in galleries that reach the
entire city and communicate with the cathedral.

Around the rock, the boats have been beaten and many people have disappeared. the people say
that the big snake do it.

The last sighting was in 1988 (nine ten eighty-eight) when a crowd with lights and cameras could
photograph the shadows of the monster´s heads.

Years later, a team of oceanographers of the Universidad de Oriente were immersed in the side of
the rock and they saw a big and red snake´s eye.

Also, they discovered a cave 160 (one hundred sixty) meters deep, where it is said, lives the
monster.
