Biology Reflection

There are a lot of experiences I have had in this course that have
improved my skills of being a scientist. My first example is using the
microscope and improving my skills. This was not something I was great at; I
had taken my other biology class a long time ago and wasn’t great at it then.
Learning to focus and look for the right things, was just always difficult. Even
though we were lacking time in the lab I still feel like my skills using a
microscope have really improved. I also enjoyed using the computer
microscopes, that was something I have never done before. Research is
something I have done but never to this extent. I learned that you cannot
just scratch the surface. I have learned how to create a proper research topic
and how to stay on the correct paths. Lastly, I can truthfully say this course
has taught me in science the more independent study the better. In the past
it, I would go to class do the work and get a good grade. But, in this class the
key is the ability to study on your own correctly.

I really enjoyed this class; it was challenging at times. I feel that it has
prepared me for my future classes throughout my degree. Working on my
microscope skills, research abilities and independent study technique are
great tools that I am going to use in my classes going forward. I can walk
away from this feeling that I have learned a lot but also, I have grown so
much as a scientist.
