Q1. A single compressor using R-12 as refrigerant has the three evaporator of capacity 10 TR, 20 TR, 30 TR. All the evaporators operate at -10
°C and the vapours leaving the evaporator are dry and saturated. The condenser temperature is 40 °C. the liquid refrigerant leaving the
condenser is sub cooled to 30 °C. assuming isentropic compression, find (a) the mass of refrigerant flowing through each evaporator, (b) the
power required to drive the compressor and cop of the system.

1. A refrigeration system using R-12 as refrigerant consist three evaporators of capacity 20TR at -10 °C, 30TR at 5°C and 10 TR at
10°C.the vapours leaving three evaporators are dry and saturated. The system is provided with individual compressor and multiple
expansion valve. The condenser temperature is 40°C and the liquid refrigerant leaving the condenser is subcooled to 30°C. Assuming
isentropic compression in each compressor find mass of refrigerant through each evaporator, power required, cop of the system. TQ.2
2. Draw and explain the cycle and ph chart for multiple evaporators at different temp with compound compression, individual expansion
valve and flash intercooler. TQ.3

Mass flow rate in the evaporator, determine the, heat rejection in absorber and condenser. Heat added to generator, cop, over all mass

temperature 10°C. condensate temperature 25°C. steam inters at the generator heating coil at 120°C. and leave it at 100°C as
condensate. The concentration of liquid leaving the generator is 0.65 and its enthalpy is -75kj/kg. the and at leaving absorber is 0.51
and its enthalpy -170kj/kg. the enthalpy of vapour leaving the generator is 2620 kj/kg. the flow rate through the evaporator is 0.4kg/s.
find pressure in generator, condenser, evaporator, absorber. Cooling capacity, heat rejection to condenser and absorber, cop and
