IOCL Lube oil Plant Visit

IOCL gets Base oil from three varies sources

1. From CPCL
2. From Truck-Container
3. From Rail Container

Additives are received by Barrel/Drum

Various Units

1. Loading / Unloading area

2. Base Oil / Additive Storage area
3. Manifold area
4. Process plant
5. Finished Product Storage area
6. Boiler House
7. Filling station (Drum filling/Can filling/Small can filling)
8. Warehouse (Finished product storage)
9. LOBS plant (Lube Oil Base Stock)

Process Outlets

IOCL produces the following products by blending with Base oil and some Additives

1. POM (Process Oil Medium)

2. 2T Supreme
3. Automotive Grade
4. Rubber Oil
5. Multi Grade Oil

Loading / Unloading Area:

In Loading/Unloading area IOCL unloads the base oil from tanker and loads the finished products to
the tanker by manually, Additives are purchased by barrels

Base Oil / Additive Storage area

Base oil and Additives are stored on storage tanks, in tank farm area totally 22 numbers of storage
tanks are placed.

Base oils are transferred to storage tanks by,

From Iso-tanker by pump suction

From CPCL by manifold

Gear pump is used for transfer the additive oil

300LPM/20HP capacity and SIEMENS/ROPER are the manufacturer of pump and motor.

Manifold area

In manifold area have various combinations of connections are placed.

From CPCL to storage tank,

Storage tank to Blending kettle,

Blending kettle to Finished product vessels

Finished product to Filling stations

Finished product to tanker loading area

Like various combinations are located in manifold are, they are connect these manifolds using of
flexible hose by manually.

Process Plant:

In process plant there are 10nos open type blending kettles are placed, base oil and additives are
transfer through the transferred pump from storage tanks.

Inside of blending kettle agitator and steam coils are placed.

Finished Product Storage area:

The finished products are stored on vessels and transferred through the manifold. There is 10
vessels are placed in finished product storage area.

Filling Station:

The finished products are filled in Drums or Barrels / Cans / Small cans by manually.

Before filling the finished products are once again filter using cartage filter manufactured by Trinity
Filtration Technologies Pvt Ltd.

Barrel filling and Can filling done by manually manufactured by Elder Equipments Pvt Ltd

Small can filling done by automated manufactured by Autopack Machines Pvt Ltd

Warehouse:

The finished products (Barrel/Cans/Small cans) are place on warehouse area, wood pallets are using
to store the finished products.

Using fork lift the barrels lifted to the containers.

LOBS (Lube Oil Base Stock) Plant:

In LOBS plant have 7 Storage tanks all are 1150 KL capacity and 12m dia X 10.5m Ht. Each tank have
transfer pumps are place in pump house
