Tata Steel Summer Internship Projects

We have collated some projects done by Tata Steel interns


in the past years to give you a taste of how your actual
internship will look like and how you need to prepare for
the same
Analytics
Project 1:

Analyst Relation System Conceptualization:


• You need to automate the analyst relations system by collaborating with other
teams to increase value of AR for sales
• You need to conceptualize system with modules & sub-modules including a
database of analysts & events
• You need to interact( primary research) with X senior executives across 10+
organizations and create roadmap for system launch Online AR Strategy Design.
You need to finalize channels and design questions that will give you the best
input.
• You need to design the digital marketing strategy for Tata Communications
Analyst Relations for social platforms . This may include understanding your Target
consumer and also the channel/platforms they are interested in. On the basis of
your consumer immersions you will be designing the strategy.
• You need to implement the recommendations you suggested in the AR digital
space
Strategy/ Process Management

Project 2:
• You need to propose a Public Private Partnership model for efficient fund
utilization, potential to increase the number of cancer care facilities to treat 72k+
extra patients. You need to understand end-to-end existing process, find loop
holes, carry out primary research with various stakeholders.
• You need to develop pay-per-use revenue model for a client, potential business
generation with 50 customers. You may need to conduct primary research for
consumer immersions and secondary research to understand existing models.
• You need to develop a Public relations strategy and present pitch for PSUs to
invest in cancer care. This involves drafting a great story for PSUs.
• You need to ideate and develop a plan for Centralized procurement of cancer
drugs, negotiate with hospitals to convince them to get on-board
Business Opportunity

Project 3:

Evaluate Business Opportunity in X business:


• You need to evaluate and develop business case for Tata Steel to foray into
Merchant Mining Business. For this you may need to study competitive landscape
, do secondary research and Identify brand opportunity.
• You need to shortlist X out of Y potential mining options basis Z profitability and
N competitive strength drivers .
• You need to conduct extensive research( both primary and secondary) for
mapping minerals worth USD 11.9+ billions to its competitive strengths
• You need to develop Analytical Hierarchy Process model for evaluating market
entry strategy for X minerals
Growth Opportunity
Project 4:

To understand key demand generators for DTH expansion in the wake of DAS 4
implementation
• You need to Identify market opportunity based upon size of opportunity, ARPU
& willingness to switch. You need to plot competitive landscape and identify
Brand opportunity accordingly
• You need to do statistical analysis of Shopper Research data of X respondents
from Y cities (clustering & factor analysis). This involves conducting usage and
attitude research.
• You need to formulate a Distribution Expansion strategy by adding 3 New
Distributors and 10+ new sales counters. This involves proper understanding of
retailer and distributor organization.
• You need to initiate pilot at 3 retailers to increase customer walk-ins &
conversions
