Charging
1. Charge the aircra battery
Connect the battery and charger as shown in the figure,
and plug the charger into a power supply
When charging the battery, the LED indicator is flashing
When the battery is fully charged, the LED indicator is

turned o
2. Charge the remote

Connect the remote to a power adapter as shown in the
figure
When charging the remote, the LED indicator is flashing
When the remote is fully charged, the LED indicator is
turned o
Mounting and Dismounting
1. Aircra
a.Landing Gear
Put down the landing gear until you hear a click sound.
Switch to unlock and retract the landing gear.
Note: the compass is located on the landing gear. Be sure to

properly put down the landing gear.
b. Battery
Push the battery into the compartment until you hear a click
sound.
Press and hold the battery mount button, and pull out the
battery.
d. Propellers
Be sure to unlock prop nuts first.

Attach propellers according to color indicators on the
motor axis.
Rotate prop nuts clockwise to secure propellers in place.
Rotate prop nuts counter-clockwise to loosen and remove
propellers.
Note: if propellers are damaged, please replace them to

ensure flight safety and e iciency.
2. Gimbal and Camera
Note: mainstream brands of class 10 or above, and U3 Micro

SD cards with over 16GB storage are recommended.
Keep the lens slightly tilted to the nose, and insert the gimbal
and camera until it clicks into place. Be sure to check the
switch is locked a erwards.
Note: reverse the procedure to remove gimbal and camera.
3. Remote
Keep antennas crossed as shown in the figure

Note: antennas can only rotate within 270°, please operate
with caution. To maintain stable signals, always keep
antennas’ longitudinal plane to the aircra .
Pull out the phone holder, and the lower clamp will
automatically pop out.
Fix your phone on the holder, and avoid touching any

buttons.
Open the bottom cap.
Connect your remote and phone with a USB cable or a

wireless adapter
Connect to and control the aircra , and upgrade firmware

according to instructions in Mi Drone App.
Note: only Micro USB cable is complimentary. Due to size
restrictions, some phones may not fit on the holder.

Connect your remote and

phone with a USB cable or a
wireless adapter
1 Open Mi Drone App, and select “Next”.
2 Select “USB connection” and follow instructions in the App.
3 Once connection to the aircra is established,return to Mi

Drone App.
Instructions
1 Open Mi Drone App
Your remote and phone have to be properly connected to
establish connection between Mi Drone App and the aircra ,
and unlock motors.
2 Confirm the aircra heading
Gimbal and camera should be mounted at the nose, battery

at the tail.
Once the aircra is turned on, the heading can be told by

navigation lights – two white lights indicate the nose, and red
& green lights indicate the tail.
Safety tips: always keep the tail pointed at the user to avoid
direction misjudge.
3 Turning on and o the aircra and

remote
Instructions for turning on and o the aircra and remote are

the same:
Press to check battery level
Press, and press again and hold for 2 seconds to turn on and
o .
4 Controlling remote sticks
Note: above directions base the aircra heading as the

reference direction.
Change stick settings in the Mi Drone App
5 Taking o and landing
Keep both sticks still for 3 seconds as shown in the le figure

to initiate propellers.
Let go when propellers are moving.
Firmly push the le stick upward to fly the aircra .

During flight, let go both sticks to hover.
Safety tips: push the stick firmly. The aircra may roll over if
you push too slow.
Slowly pull down the stick to land the aircra .

Once the aircra touches down, hold the stick for 5 more
seconds to shut motors.
Safety tips:
When motors can’t properly turn
o , press and hold power button
and auto take-o /land button
simultaneously for 5 seconds to
shut motors.
Do not press power button and auto take-o /land button at
the same time during normal flight to avoid falling accidents.
6 Turning on and o the gimbal camera

when the aircra is turned on, the gimbal camera turns on
automatically along with it and enters stand-by mode.
The gimbal camera turns o when the aircra is turned o .
7 Controlling the lens
Use the le roller to tilt the lens within the angle range as
shown in the figure.
Let go of the le roller to remain the tilt.
8 Taking photos and recording videos
Press the camera button to take a photo. A photo is taken

when you hear 2 short sounds.
Press the video button to record videos. Recording starts

when you hear 2 short sounds. Press again to stop recording
confirmed by 4 short sounds.
During recording, the LED indicator is breathing.
9 Shortcut buttons
1. During flight, switch the course/home lock to the right to

command the aircra to return home.
2. During its return, switch the course/home lock to the le
to command the aircra to hover and wait for further
instructions.
3. The right roller is set to adjust white lights’ brightness by
default. The setting can be changed in Mi Drone App.
4. When the auto take-o /land button flashes white light,
the aircra is ready for auto taking o and landing.When
the aircra is ready for taking o , press the auto take-
o /land button, and press again and hold for 2 seconds to
fly the aircra .When the aircra is ready for landing, press
the auto take-o /land button, and press again and hold
for 2 seconds to land the aircra .
Maintenance and Calibration

1 Propellers
Propellers are wearing parts. When they’re damaged, replace

them in time to ensure flight safety and e iciency.
2 Battery
Do not throw the battery into fire; Do not batter the battery;
Lithium battery’s capacity reduces significantly in low
temperature conditions. Do not use the battery when it is
below 5 degrees.
3 Self-check
The drone self-checks every time a er turned on. When self-

check fails, a notification will be sent in your App.
4 Compass calibration
The compass needs recalibration when magnetic field

changes. Follow instructions in the App to recalibrate the
compass.
5 Code matching
When replacing a new remote or aircra , code matching

between your remote and aircra should be renewed as
follows:
1 Turn on the aircra .
2 Turn on the remote. 15 seconds later, press and hold the

power button until you hear a beeping sound and the power
button flashes
3 Unlock and remove the gimbal cap to locate the code

matching hole. Press the screwdriver into the hole for one
second and let go for the aircra to enter code matching
state, confirmed by that the white lights on the aircra are
out.
4 The code matching succeeds when the power button
flashes white light and the white lights on the aircra resume.
6 Wireless adapter
1 Some phones will indicate no wireless network when

connected to the remote, please remain the connection.
2 Change the name and password of the wireless adapter to

avoid mis-connection.
3 When wireless adapter’s password is changed, renew the

connection to your phone.
4 The wireless adapter works alongside the remote.
If the remote is replaced, the adapter’s username and

password will resume to default.
5 if forget username or password, please connect remote and

phone by USB cable to check username and password. the
method is as following.
How to change the name and password of the wireless

adapter?
a.Connect to Mi Drone App.
b.Open “Settings”.
c.Select “Manage Wi-Fi passwords “.
d.Enter new name and password, and save.
7 Stick calibration
When you detect inconsistencies between stick control and

aircra flying, please disconnect the remote and aircra , and
calibrate the remote in Mi Drone App settings.

Good day
I recently purchased the xiaomi 4k mi drone from

tomtop. I have since had a number of problems with
drone and require assistance. The first issue is that
when I try to switch on the drone starts up beeps for
about 10 seconds and then switches o . Does not even
give me a chance to connect. On the odd occasion
when it does stay on and allows me to connect I seem
to get a warning on the app that says (Betty update
error or Betty communication). When the drone does
work I did seem to have a problem with the camera
not displaying image on my screen. Please assist me

I’m having battery problems with my Mi Drone 4k.

The battery is not charging.
The lights are flashing two by two when it’s plugged
into the charger … but it will not charge.
What do I do? How I can do to fix the battery?

When charging the battery, the LED indicator is

Hi, I am having problems with the gimbal calibration,

the start to calibrate tab won’t light up so it
constatntly has a gimbal error but it all turns and
moves ok when it initialy starts. Help someone please

When i try to start propellers they don’t start. The
camera is ok, the compass calibration is ok and the
app shows me “could take o ”. The problem is that i
can’t fly. What Can I do now?

CTVMH found a solution to compass

calibration or maybe work around:
1: Ensure drone (aircra ) is turned o
2: Remove 4k Camera Gimbal from drone
(aircra ) (in my case leaving the camera on the
aircra compass calibration always failed.)
3: Replace gimbal panel cover back in situ on
the fuselage ( not sure if there is a microswitch
which might cause issue here so I did it any

way)
4:Turn on and connect drone (aircra )
5: Go back to Application settings
6: Recalibrate compass

I’ve been flying for hourd and tested all the features.
Noe suddenly the RC is not able to connect to the
drone. Tried the procedure as a new remote. Pairing

ok burt still no Connection. How can I reset the RC?

Hi all,
have real trouble with the gov. here in Germany.
Do you have any kind of EU Declaration of Conformity

for the drone – similar to the US FCC ???
In Germany you need a flight insurance for drones.

Without the EU DoC no way to operate the drone in
Germany !!!!

I’ve flying with mi drone for 2 weeks. In my last fly, RC

disconnect from the phone. The drone return, but I
can’t reconnect RC to phone again. I’m still traying to
connect, but it is not possible. Now when I connect the
phone by USB to the RC, it doesn’t charge. Doesn’t
connect at all. How can I reset the RC? Do you have

Hi,

the calibration is always a success but the horizon still
isn’t horizontal, i checked that the drone is leveled and

Hi, just received the mi drone from gearbest and set it

up. For some reason it can’t connect to camera… have
tried countless times to update firmware for camera
but it fails every time. (Update is ‘4k RC relay update’.
Gimbal works perfect. Plus have taken it out for a fly
test and works.
In camera settings, every selection returns a ‘setup
failed’ response including tf card format. Also within
version setting, it has N/A against the camera version.
It just can’t connect to camera…. Please help…

The controller gives me no movement of the gimble

and I’m unable to record at all, the app does not even
regognise the camara only the live view is active….
also it’s tilted and I can’t seem to get it straight again..

Hello, I have made around 6 flights with my Xiaomi 4K

drone and all is going well, however:
1. Why can I not use all the features in the APP like
orbit, dronie, waypoints etc? These features seem to
be unavailable. Am I in some kind of beginner
timeframe?

Hello,
By an unfortunate crash of the drone, the internal
cable line inside the gimbal mount base has been split
into two parts making the gimbal and the camera
useless.
Can I buy this cable line separately instead of replacing
the whole gimbal (which by the way is quite
expensive)?

card in Dell Venue Tab 3740 and no issue is observed.
Points to be noted: This is Genuine card Made in

I can’t get my iphone 8plus to connect its on iOS 11.1.2

and always says login failed but works on my wife’s
iOS 10.2.2 so can’t fly the drone without using her
phone any help?

Hello my friend:
I have been flying my xiaomi drone 4k for 2 weeks with

no problem.
But now, suddenly can’t pair the RC to the
smartphone. (Galaxy S8).
When the cabble conects, it seems to be charging
(conected to the phone), but a message appears that
says “no conection”.
I Think the problem is between the rc and the phone
How can i fix it???

good morning, I have the xiaomi 4k drone bought from

10days. the control connects to the drone but I can not
connect my iPhone 6s via cable to the joestick control.
I think the app I use is wrong. I can not read the qr
code on your site to download the correct one. I do not
even see a wifi network related to the drone or the
radio control. how can I make the drone work. Thanks

I just got the mi drone 4k, but I have no sound on the

video playback? Is there is a option to enable the
sound?

Hello, I flew my xiaomi drone 4k 3-4 times without any

problems. A er the last landing, I tried to fly it again
and even though both lights on the RC were white and
it said “Could take o ” the propellers did not start.
Also I cannot connect my phone with the usd cable –
the phone only connects with the RC with WiFi. Any
suggestions??

Hi Xiaomi,
I love this drone and the handheld gimbal is a brilliant

too. However, I don’t take it with me for certain
missions because of the following two reasons that
believe would improve it without much cost.
(1) – It’s awkward (and flight time wasting) needing to

take o before setting up waypoint missions etc. I
have another drone that uses so ware by Litchi, and
this permits me to prepare waypoint missions in
advance using the app with google maps. Surely it
would not be a di icult modification to permit
advance route planning and saving to disk memory on
your app to make this drone the number for ease of
use too.
(2) – Sometimes the sun is too bright in parts of photos

so it would be great if you could make a shroud for the
camera that would permit the use of filters and sun
visors to eliminate glare.
The Mi 4K is already the best value drone on the

market, in my opinion, so please don’t take my ideas
as criticism. I just want it to be my drone of choice for
every mission.

Hi, I am having a couple issues with my new MI 4K. It

says I have the PTZ cam but I cannot find anywhere to
use the zoom functions. The other issue is my altitude
will not show correctly. I have tried in several places

from in the city to in the desert and same results.
Currently I am at 325′ above sea level and the drone is
saying it is -415′. Is there a way to get the battery
temps to show °F instead of °C and the LAT/LONG to
show as DDD° MM’ SS.SS”? The last question is, will
the dual FPV monitors work with the MI 4K drone with
also the telem for making a gcs station.

Hello everyone,
i´m just trying to fly my drone for the first time but
could not make it. Problem is that, a er callibrating
the drone , the app says it can not take o and
problem with the compass or something like that.
Could you please help me and tell me what am i doing
wrong? i can connect camera and everything, but
propellers don´t start spinning. I only get these two
alert messages, re “compass” and “can´t take o ”.
Please, help.

Hi, I have an MI 4k I turn on the RC and work fine, but

when I turn on the drone the battery blinks all the
LEDs quickly for about 5 seconds and goes o without
starting the drone; It seems like it’s giving the problem
sel est, but I’m not sure.

Im having problems with the remote controller.

The controller never had a fall or semething.
While in flight, the aircra automatically turns to le
(like if i had pushed the le stick to le direction), but i
didnt make this move.
I tried to callibrate the stick, and that is the real proof.

Just moving the le stick to down , it shows like if i
was moving the stick to the le .
What can be done to solve my problem??

I just bought a XIAOMI Mi Drone 4K UHD WiFi FPV

Quadcopter. A er putting everything together i cant
get the engines to work. The auto take-o /land button
is always red. Does it have anything to do with that? Is
there a sequence to change from red to white? Best

I would love if it was HDMI 2.2 compliant instead of 1.4,

but also understand that it will mean to redevelop the
product. Hopefully sometime in the future you might
develop a HDMI 2.2 Stick (as you must stay current to
be relevant in the market) and sell it as an upgrade
with a special price for us your current backers. That
for me would be good enough as we all knew what we
were getting into (if you did your due diligence. It is
said many times over this project campaign page, you
just have to look for what it meant)

of. but while trying for its not taking o . tried the
calibration all ok. but the auto take o /land button is
flashing red in several intervals. please help me. it was
flying good earlier.
