I: Good afternoon, I am one of the researcher from group 8 our study is A Case Study of Factors
Considered by Undecided Grade 10 Students of Lpu- L in choosing their Academic Track for Senior High
school. So we prep… we prepare some warm up questions. First is what is your dream?

P: ahhhmmm to be a flight attendant and also be a volleyball player…

I: Matagal mo nabang dream yung ganon?...

P: Ano?

I: Matagal mo nabang dream?

P: Yes. Oo.

I: How do you see yourself 10 years from now?

P: Siguro nag wowork or go flight attendant or volleyball player

[Shatter sound]

I: Ano yung mas prefer mong ih pursue yung flight attendant or yung pagiging volleyball prayer… player

[shatter sound]

P: Yung pagiging ano flight attendant…

I: What is it like to be an undecided student? ...

P: ahhmm nung una mahirap siya kase sobrang confusing perooo habang tumatagal mas okay na yung
feeling hindi na siya masyadong mahirap …

I: Anong grade ka nung ano… naging undecided student …

P: ahmm nung grade 10 lang den

I: ahhh nung grade 9 parang chill chill lang ganon?

P: Oo parang ganon di naman chill pero parang ahmmm nung kasi parang specific na gusto so parang
akala ko yun na yon tas naging confuse ganon.

I: Pwedeng malaman kung ano yon?...

P: Oo nung grade 10 gusto ko actually maging doctor ever since tas nagkaroon siguro ng change of
interest parang ganon. …

I: hmm…

[Pause]

I: Are there any hardship you encounter as an undecided student? …

P: ahmm hindi naman wala naman masyado…

I: If you were given a chance to decide by yourself without any influence do you think it will be easier?

P: ahhhmm hiindii ren siguro onting opinions na nakakatulong den sa pag decide.

[Pause]

I: For being a grade 10 student and you only have a short time frame to decide do you feel any pressure
on choosing your academic track?

P: hmmm hindi naman wala naman na … hmm kase alam ko naman na by the time na matapos ako
mag grade 10 alam ko na kung ano yung pipiliin ko

I: ahhh yung pagiging flight attendant na papasok sa abm?

P: Yes oo

[Pause]

I: What way do you think can help you decide what academic track you will choose in senior high
school?

P: ahhh abm strand yun abm strand

[Pause]

I: The Lpu- L is keen to serve the wider community and economy. Does Lpu- L help you to have any
potential in different ares? On what way?

P: Oo… kase ang lpu kilala din talaga siya for ano nag kakaroon sila ng magandang ano education
system and maramin din naman silang inoffer so yun…
I: nung ano kaba nung se nung ano junior high ngayong junior high iniisip mo naba talaga sa Lpu ka mag
aaral?...

P: Yes oo

[Pause]

I: What are the factors that influenced you in choosing your academic track? …

P: ahmm… siyempre una yung parental influence tapos yung ano ko ahmm own interest… tapos
abilities and yung ibang sigurong mga articles na nababasa ko… regarding sa mga… strands and ahmm
tracks ganon.

[Pause]

I: Enumerate this factors and rank them from … yun [laugh]

P: shempre yung una yung parental influence yun yung pinaka nakakaffect … and yung sumunod is
yung ano ko interest then yung third is abilities and yung fourth is yung mga articles na nababasa ko

I: Dun sa factors ng parental factors mo [cough]

P: yes?

I: Sila ba yung kumbaga sila ba yung nag decide para maging flight attendant ka

P: ahmm personal opinion ko yon sabi naman nirerespect kung ano yung parang kung ano yung gusto
kong ih pursue in the future

I: Yung mom mo ba ano yung work ng mom mo?

P: ahh wala housewife siya

I: Ehh yung dad mo?

P: Ahh ofw…

I: What is the reason behind each factor?

[Pause]

P: ahhmm first is dun sa article siyempre yung mga ano kumbaga credible articles and ahmm yung
mga naasahang sources siyempre parang nakakatulong din siya maka affect sa decision ko kasi meron
ilang mga articles na nag rerefer dun sa mga careers and sa mga strands ganon tas siyempre yung
abilities naman kung ano yung kakayanan mo siyempre parang komportable ipursue yung strand or
na pipiliin mo tas yung interest mo parang para sakin kasi ahh pag interesado ka talaga sa isang bagay
talagang para sakin para sayo talaga yung bagay na yon tsaka yung parental influence naman parang
siyempre sila yung mas nakakakilala sayo ahh sa sarili ko ng lubos so feeling ko alam din nila kung ano
yung mas best para sakin kaya yun nakakatulong din yung opinions nila

I: From the previous ranking the factors abilities influence you the most in choosing academic track how
do you think it can affect you in the future? …

P: aahhmm siyempre kung yung pinaka makakaffect ahmm … atleast ko kung anong kaya ko atleast
alam ko yung best for me kase yun nga yung susundin ko parang ganon

I: From your chosen factor what way do you think this factor influence you

P: Ahmm nag gigive some sila ng grade sakin siyempre parang without this factors parang lalong
magiging undecided and kung kung mag bebase ako sa factors na to or yung mga nakakainfluenced
and mas mapapadali yung pag ano ko mas mapapadali yung pag dedecide ko parang ganon

I: Diba dun sa binigay mong factors kung ano ba yung una mong susundin yung sa parents mo or yung sa
sarili mong kagustuhan?

P: yung sarili kong kagustuhan

I: How do you feel being influenced by this factors?

P: ahh okay lang ang funny yun nga parang ahh nakakatulong pa tong mga factors na to sakin kasi
siyempre -
