Interview of Participant 10.

Question 1
Interviewer: When do you find yourself feeling the most
stress in terms in academic? is it related to specific
situations or activity?

Interviewee: Uhh i think yung pinaka stressful na parts


sakin is yung kapag may groupings, kasi hindi lang yung
sarili mo yung need mong initindihin kelangan mo rin
ipancenter yung iba.

Question 2
Interviewer: Which part in your academic bring you the
most stress?

Interviewee: Siguro kapag [silence] nagsabay sabay yung


activities and summatives, like hindi mo na alam kung ano
yung uunahin mo na reviewhen or gawin.

Interviewer: Umm describe a time you had to make a tough
decision in school. How did you make sure you will
overcome it?

Interviewee: Uhh i think yung isa sa pinaka tough


decision na ginawa ko is yung nagdecide ako na mag leader
kasi alam ko naman na iresponsable akong tao, and I’m
pero I know na maoovercome ko yon kasi minanage ko naman
ng mabuti yung sarili ko tapos yung group.

related stress? Do you have any techniques or strategies
which you find are really help- helpful in coping?
Interviewee: Can you clarify the question?

Interviewer: Umm ano daw yung ginagawa mo if nakakaramdam


ka ng academic related na stress, mayroon ka daw bang
ginagawang something para daw makapagcope ka jan?

Interviewee: Siguro kasi kapag naiistress ako dahil yon


sa ano overload na mga gawain, uhh para maovercome ko yon
uhh inaarrange ko inoorganize ko yung bawat gawain sa…
kunwari sa deadline kung ano yung mauuna para alam ko
kung ano yung uunahin ko, para alam ko kung ano yung
ipapriorities ko.

Interviewer: Can you describe a time when your academic-
related stress resulted in making errors at your study
habits?

Interviewee: Siguro ano mashado kong na ano sa dami ng


gawain non hindi ko na alam kung ano uunahin ko… like sa
sobrang daming gawain wala na akong ginawa, like na
stress nalang ako iniisip ko nalang na babagsak agad ako
ganon.

Interviewer: How do you ensure that academic-related
stress situations does not affect your study habits?

Interviewee: Uhh inaanalize kong mabuti yung stress ko


kung pano ko siya maoovercome para hindi maaapektuhan
yung study habits ko.

process you notice when you’re feeling stressed?

Interviewee: Uhh yung pinaka thought ko kapag naiistress


ako is kung [silence] ano ba [silence] siguro kung
[silence] gano kababa yung grades na makukuha ko ganon,
naiistress agad ako nag aano agad ako sa conclusion na
babagsak agad ako.

you?

Interviewee: Uhh siguro naapektohan niya ako negatively,


like hindi ko na naaasikaso sarili ko.

Interviewer: Does it also affect your mood, energy level,
ability to concentrate, or something else?

Interviewee: Umm kapag nakakafeel ako ng academic related


stress uhh naapektuhan yung buong pagkatao, kasi like
parang nag-aano kasi ako ng academic validation so kapag
nastress ako in terms of academics parang naapektuhan
yung buong ano ko, kasi parang dun lang ako kumukuha ng…
ng lakas, ng yon.

Interviewer: Do you get any motivational approaches from
your family, friends, or other relevant persons?

Interviewee: Uhm oo kasi lagi naman nila akong


minomotivate minemake sure naman nila na nafefeel nila
yung pagkaproud nila sakin even tho sinasabi ko sa kanila
na parang hindi ko na kaya.

Question 1
Interviewer: When do you find yourself feeling the most
stress in terms in academic? is it related to specific
question- situations or activities?

Interviewee: I do find myself stressed in- when there’s


so many assignments, kasi here in the Phillipines like
almost 10 hours na tayong nasa school, and then bigla
tapos meron pa tayong take home activities, like that.

Interviewer: Which part in your academic brings you the
most stress?

Interviewee: Just like what I said yung part na yung


teachers are… bringing- are… asking to do an assignment
parang, tapos ano kinabukasan agad yung pass.

Interviewer: Describe a time you had to make a tough
decision in school. How did… how did you make sure you
will overcome it?

Interviewee: Describe the time? Pano to? [silence] ano


there’s a time na ano like ang hirap ihandle ng pressure
so parang yung specially pag finals, kasi ako ang hirap
mag multitask so parang inuuna ko hindi lahat nirereview
ko, tapos ang hirap mamili nang subject na rereviewhin mo
pero kunwari I prefer reviewing sa basic cal than chem,
like that.

Interviewer: What do you do when you feel academic-
related stress? Do you have any techniques or strategies
which you find are really helpful in coping with it?

Interviewee: Ano uhh… I let myself rest. Hindi meron


akong coping mechanism na… like kahit isang oras sa when
I’m stressed kahit isang oras, hindi ako iisip ng kahit
anong bagay or I’ll just sleep, something like that.

Interviewer: Can you describe a time when your academic-
related stress resulted in making errors at your study
habits?

Interviewee: Nung ano… uhh [silence] so… shempre if


academic related stress ehh ano yan, sakop din ba non
yung like those course something, like yung kunware
nakakuha ko ng low scores and… shempre madidisappoint ka
sa sarili mo, and your study habits maapektuhan siya,
kasi… you are disappointed and hindi ka makapagfocus sa
study habits mo.

stress situations does not- does not affect your study
habits?

Interviewee: Eh pano yan? Nakakaapekto siya? So [silence]


so ano… hindi kasi yung academic related stress can
affect my study habits, for me.

Interviewer: Is there any particular behavior or thought
process you notice when you’re feeling stressed?
Interviewee: When I’m stressed… I… nag bebreak down,
tapos and I let- I just let myself feel the emotion.

Interviewer: How does the academic-related stress impact
you?

Interviewee: Uhh I’m a very happy person, but when it


comes sa academic related stress talagang ano kasi I’m
academic validation? Ano yung word nayun? Parang…

Interviewer: Achiever?

Interviewee: Ayun academic achiever parang hindi ko… kaya


na nagfefail ako when it comes to academic, so…
nagkakaroon siya ng impact to my mental health- mental
health or something.

Interviewer: Does it also affect your mood, energy level,
ability to concentrate, or something else?

Interviewee: yes, specially my energy level, kasi uhm I’m


known as a very energetic person, but there are times na
kapag stress ako sa academic my energy level drops
something.

Question 7
Interviewer: Do you get any motivational approaches from
your family, friends, or other relevant persons? How?

Interviewee: I get motivational approach from my friends,


like… they always… na nanjan sila lagi to tell na kaya ko
yung bagay nayon, and they also help me to accept
failure.

the most stress in terms in academics? is it related to
specific question- situations or activities?

Interviewee: Yes, ano pag nageexam ganon naiistress kasi


walang masagot.

Interviewer: Which part in your academic brings you the
most stress?

Interviewee: Anong part ng academic?

Interviewer: Uhm… subjects ganon, kung ano projects


ganon, assignments.

Interviewee: Ahh [silence] ano test, projects ganon, pag


kinulang sa time.

Interviewer: Describe a time you had to make a tough
decision in school. How did you make sure you will
overcome it?

Interviewee: Yung sa [silence] had to make a tough


decision? [silence] uhm yung [silence] umm yung
pagdedecision kung [silence] kung… kung [laugh] kaninong
group [laugh] kaninong group ako mag aano sasabay like
that, and siguro makikinig nalang muna ako sa ano sa…
isang group kung ano ba yung maiitulong niya sakin or,
and then sa isang group din, para mamake ko yung decision
na yon.

Interviewee: Siguro ano… meron naman… like [silence] hmm…


nakikinig sa music pag- pag naiistress para mabawasan
ganon.

related stress resulted in making errors at your study
habits?

Interviewee: Pano yan?

Interviewer: Yung ano daw magdescribe kadaw ng uhh event


na- yung stress na- na nafefeel mo is… naaapektuhan or
nagkakaeffect na sayo or like making errors at your study
habits.

Interviewee: Ano kapag [silence] pag yung sobrang…


pinipilit alalahanin yung ano yung like nirereview ganon,
parang mas lalong namamali yung isasagot kasi
napepressure yung utak ganon.

Interviewer: So uhm… how do you ensure that academic-
related stress situations does not affect your study
habits?

Interviewee: Uhm ano pag [silence] siguro inuuna- tawag


dito? Pag [silence] kasi study habits ko is parang
makikinig ako ng ano music and ano talking to my friends
ganon, so [silence] ineensure ko na yung… yung stress ko
sa academics ko is… uhm ano- [silence] uhm naeensure ko
yung ano na hindi maapektuhan yung study habits ko by
managing my time.

thought process you notice when you’re feeling stressed?

Interviewee: Uhm kapag naiistress kasi ako ano minsan


[laugh] sinasabunotan ko yung buhok ko kasi wala akong
maisip na paraan kung pano ko magagawa yung bagay na yon.

Interviewee: Ano [silence] malaking impact sakin kasi


parang naapektuhan din yung… ano… grades ko ganon.

ability to concentrate, or something else?

Interviewee: Yes. Ano pag naiistress kasi ako, minsan


nagagalit like… like ano pag hindi na maisip kung ano
yung gagawin naiiyak then ganon, and hindi maka- makapag
concentrate sa isang bagay kasi maraming naiisip.

Interviewer: Do you get any motivational approaches from
your family, friends, or other relevant persons? How?
Interviewee: Yes, ano pa- nag aano nagbibigay sila ng… ng
mga… umm kunwari pag ano, pag bagsak ako sa like sa mga
exams, yung family ko sinasabi nila na okay lang yan may
mga susunod pa na exam, magreview nalang nang umm mabuti.
Pag sa friends ko naman umm chinicheer up nila ko like
pinapatawa nila ko ganun, ganun lang.

stress in terms in academic? is it related to situations
or activities?

Interviewee: Siguro po kapag kuwan- kapag nagsabay sabay


ang activities like talagang overload na siya, yung hindi
mo na alam gagawin mo ganun, yon.

Interviewer: Which part in your academic brings you the
most stress?

Interviewee: Which part? Siguro sakin kuwan [silence]


Wait [laugh] [silence] Kapag yung mga major subjects like
nagsasabay sabay ng summative, siguro ayun.

Interviewer: Describe a time you had to make a tough
decision in school. How did you make sure you will
overcome it?

Interviewee: Sa pagrereview, like diba kasi lalo na


ngayon like finals na shempre importante yung academics,
kapag nagrereview sumasabay kasi yung research,
pananaliksik tapos pr, tapos mga summatives. Parang sa
gabi hindi ko siya narereview kaya [silence] nirereview
ko nalang siya ng… kunware kuwan nalang siya one hour
before the… summative ganon.

related stress? Do you have any techniques or strategies
which you find are really helpful in coping with it?

Interviewee: Yes, meron akong mga strategies. Inoorganize


ko yung mga things na kaylangan kong gawin, like general
to specific ganon.

Interviewer: Can you describe a time where academic-
related stress resulted in making errors at your study
habits?

Interviewee: Can you describe… [silence] eto, nito nito


lang ito nangyari sa basic calculus like andami ko kasing
iniisip non, then binigay na samin yung questionnaires,
inoverthink ko na lahat. Ang nagawa ko, napagbalik
baliktad ko yung way kung pano siya isolve, ayun.

Interviewer: How do you ensure that… academic-related
stress situations does not affect your study habits?

Interviewee: How do you ensure that academic related


stress… [silence] by do- uhh siguro apply it, kasi parang
ganito rin topic namin sa research, siguro nalang iaapply
ko nalang din yung mga natutunan namin don, like nakukuha
rin namin sa ibang respondents namin ganon. [silence] By
doing uhm studying habits, some strategies, and don na
effective sayo.

Interviewer: Is there any particular behavior or thought
process you notice when you’re feeling stressed?
Interviewee: [tsked] particular behavior?… parang ang
nangyayari kasi sa akin kapag overstressed na, like
parang balisa ako [silence] yung mind ko siya- yung mind
ko iniisip ko hindi na siya clear, hindi ko na kasi alam
kung ano yung uunahin ko dahil sa overload, activities na
din.

you?

Interviewee: It affect my or- uhm my over all well being


[laugh].

Interviewer: Does it also affect your mood, energy level,
ability to concentrate, or something else?

Interviewee: Yes po nakakaapekto siya [silence]


nakakaapekto talaga siya, as in! Ayun na yon.

Interviewer: Do you get any motivational approaches from
your family, friends, or other rele- relevant persons?
How?

Interviewee: Uhm… yes nakakakuha ako ng mga motivational


approach dahil… kapag alam nila na… parang may iba na sa
kinikilos ko, ayun kakausapin nila ako, ako naman isasabi
ko sa kanila kung ano yung dinadala ko ganon,
nararamdaman ko. Then iauplift naman nila yung… alam mo
yun, yung spirit ko, edi nagbibigay sila ng mga
motivational quotes.
