The Accounting program shares with the University its fundamental mission to make student
learning its central focus. Our goal is to develop superior students who will be sought for their

The Accounting programme aims:
This degree programme offers individuals a large variety of opportunities in business. Graduates
are found in numerous managerial positions since their accounting background offers them
upward mobility in any business environment. Accounting also continues to be a field with one
of the highest demands for graduates. To meet this demand, the curriculum provides students a
general knowledge of business with a focus on accounting.

This degree programme gives students cutting-edge strategic knowledge and various skills. The
programme provides the graduate with a thorough theoretical and practical grounding in the
management of people and employment, both locally and internationally. Students will study
topics such as organisational behaviour, employment relations systems and processes, human
resource planning, recruitment and selection, performance management, training and
development, occupational health and safety, work organisation, negotiation and conflict

The HRM programme aims to:
Educate students and help them gain a firm understanding of different aspects and issues related
to Human Resource Management in the workplace, and professional organizations. Other

It has been our aim to purposefully design a curriculum, that will provide our students with one
of the best undergraduate programmes in economics in the country. A degree in economics
provides the student with the ability to apply economic principles and models to a wide range of
issues, whilst understanding the wider driving forces that shape social policy. 
For this program students must earn a minimum grade of C in all prerequisites. 
The Economics  programme aims to:
Educate students and help them to gain a firm understanding of different aspects and issues
related to Economics. Other objectives include:  

 Developing students to pursue a career as an economist in academia, industry, finance, or


government.

Internship - ECON 449:


Prerequisite: Junior or Senior* standing in the School of Business and permission of internship
coordinator. This will be a supervised field work in selected business, social and governmental
organization; supplemented by written reports. Students must complete 240 hours of internship.

Senior: 97+ credits with a minimum GPA 2.00

The Bachelor’s of Business Administration in Finance programme aims to:

 Equip students with the tools, knowledge and skills necessary to operate in a range of
business environments, and to develop a broad understanding of business and finance.

 Prepare students for professional careers in such areas as banking, investments, fund
management, consulting, or the financial department of any large organisation.

 Provide a sound theoretical and practical grounding, as well as arming the graduate with
the technical expertise necessary to make sound decisions in finance.

 Provide students with the essential skills to manage and develop the framework

By the end of this degree, students should have been exposed to the three branches of finance:
