To Whom It May Concern,

It is my pleasure to recommend Todd Fishburn for a school leadership position. Todd is

currently the principal at the Dever Elementary and I have supported the school as the district
administrator since the fall of 2018.

In my experience working with Todd, he is thoughtful and reflective in his practice and an
advocate for our most marginalized students. During the time I have supported the Dever,
Todd has refined his goals each year to narrow the focus in order to establish high
expectations and clear priority areas. His priorities have included building strong relationships,
strengthening teacher leadership, and advocating for the use of data to drive instruction,
particularly with English Learners (ELs).

As a result of this focus, in 2019 the Dever school was able to demonstrate significant gains
with ELs and former ELs, earning 8 out of 9.6 points in their total improvement target
indicators and an overall 83% on the state annual target percentage. Within the achievement
indicator, students within the EL and former EL subgroup, earned 4 out of 4 points in ELA, 3
out of 4 points in math and 4 out of 4 points in science.

There is no doubt in my mind that Todd is invested in and advocates for all students, teachers
and families in Boston Public Schools and he would be an asset to any leadership team.
