Guide Questions: 1. What sounds have you heard in the hospital that made the most impact to you? - The sound that made the most impact to me was hearing the Mechanical ventilator because it reminds me of my rotation experience at the Neuro ward and usually the beeping sounds of a Mechanical ventilator signals danger or unstability and the pumping sound that is being made of the air pump from the ventilator sounds like it is gasping for air. It reminds me of how hard the situation of the stroke patients so it made me picture the situation of the hospitals right now all over the world with this pandemic going on and I am certain that this same sound would also be traumatic to hear ever when after it subsides. 2. In your opinion, can we incorporate sound to make our client’s hospital experience better? - Yes, because hearing or listening to music is actually therapeutic it has been proven in a study by the American Music Therapy Association that music can be helpful in alleviating pain, experience less anxiety, provides relief and comfort. This would make their hospital experience less frightening.
