1 Statement of the problem
Corporate social responsibility (CSR) has become increasingly important to the
competitiveness of organizations. What influence employees to participate in CSR activity is
Still a question. So it is very important to understand the various factors that influence
employees to participate in such activity. This study tries to find out whether the
demographics influence their participation or not.
3.2 Need of the Study
a) Many companies are involved in CSR activity to build trust with employees, society,
government. Hence this study will help us to find out the various factors that leads
employees to CSR activity.
b) This study will support to find out the interest of employees towards participation in
CSR activity.
c) There are only few studies on the topic “factors influencing employee’s participation
in CSR activity”
3.3 Scope of the study
a) This study will aims at finding the interest of employees towards participation in CSR
activities.
b) This study will aims at identifying various factors that leads employees to participate
in CSR activities.
3.4 Objective of the study
a) To identify the different factors affecting employee participation in CSR activity in
selected IT companies at Bengaluru.
b) To analyse the opinions of demographic factors on CSR activity in selected IT
companies at Bengaluru.
3.5 Limitation of the study
a) This study is limited Bengaluru urban area.
b) This study is conducted only on employees working at selected IT companies.

3.6 Research methodology
Research methodology refers to the steps and processes taken on the field of research. It
generally includes data collection method, tools for analysis, adopted technique. Quantitative
research usually involves data collection to support the analysis process .
a) Population :
Employees working in selected IT companies at Bengaluru.
b) Sample design :
Sample size : The sample size selected is 110
Sampling method : non probability sampling technique is adopted to identify the perspective
of employees towards CSR activity i.e. convenience sampling
c) Method of Data collection
Primary data is collected and used for conducting the study by using questionnaire .
questionnaire distributed to employees those who are working in selected IT companies in
Bengaluru
d) Instrument for Data collection
Questionnaire: questionnaire created by using google forms and only online mode has been
used for administering the questionnaire. 30 variables have been identified for developing the
questionnaire.
e) Testing of questionnaire / Pilot
Reliability analysis has been used for pilot testing of the questionnaire with 25 respondents

f) Data analysis techniques :
Independent t-test : independent t-test is also known as sample t-test where the data is
subjected to check statistically significant difference of means of two unrelated group.
Anova : Anova is also known as analysis of variance and it is similar to t-test the only
difference is that 3 or more groups of variables can be compared.
Factor analysis : number of variables in a dataset can be reduced by using factor analysis .
it is useful when there are a very large number of observed variables. Different factors can
be converged based on the result obtained from the factor analysis.

H01: There is no difference in opinion of male and female regarding factors influencing
employee’s participation in CSR activities.
H11: There is a difference in opinion of male and female regarding factors influencing
employee’s participation in CSR activities.

H02: There is no difference in opinion of various age group regarding factors influencing
employee’s participation in CSR activities
