4th Quarter 2018 Edition

Welcome to the 4th quarter 2018 edition of the S∙O∙S Services Fluid Analysis newsletter. We are very proud of the collaboration efforts
being made between the Cat and Dealer programs. To continually strengthen the program, it is important to encourage partnering, drive
standardization and ensure proper alignment with the corporate CSA and Condition Monitoring initiatives. In this article, we see the
collaboration first hand through the S·O·S Dealer Conference, the follow up meetings held in September and the delivered results. You’ll also
see five dealers recognized for achieving the S·O·S standardization requirements and the S·O·S Software support efforts.

Again please let us let’s know any comments on the newsletter or future topics you would like included.

Driving Change Through the S·O·S Dealer Conference

In previous editions we discussed the five primary outputs from
the 2017 S·O·S Dealer Conference held in Reno, Nevada. These
outputs are:

• Interpretation training workstream

• Marketing and communication workstream
• Market Capture / Downstream Revenue workstream
• The new S·O·S helpdesk – implemented Feb 2018
• Quarterly newsletters - implemented 1Q2018

Together, we have committed to the focus projects and delivered

on each. The shared feedback has been overwhelmingly positive
and encouraging for future program improvements.

2017 S·O·S DSG Conference

Focus and alignment has continued through 2018. In September,

the DSG core team and Cat S·O·S team met in-person to cover a
variety of topics such as the three workstream projects, global
Standardization, software updates, lab related projects, other
projects, and preplanning for the 2019 DSG conference. The
conversations were very positive and productive, and the
teamwork represented truly shows the commitment to make the
S·O·S program stronger.

Achieving Standardization Certification
S·O·S Standardization provides a consistent high-quality fluid analysis
program that retains and gains customers while delivering on the
Caterpillar brand promise regardless of the Caterpillar dealer
providing the service.

In 2018, four more dealer programs have committed to their program

and achieved S·O·S Standardization certification and one dealer has
achieved recertification.
• Patten Cat achieved certification in June,
• Finning Canada achieved certification in August,
• Gecolsa achieved certification in October
• Sotreq Achieved certification in October
• Cashman Equipment achieved recertification in September

Thank you for your hard work and dedication to your program and
congratulations on your achievements.

Maintaining Our Technology

In today’s world, technology is important for process efficiency. For S·O·S Services, we have a variety of technology being used from our LIMS
system to our web portal. To make these processes run efficiently, we need a strong team “behind the scenes” providing dedicated support to
the software running the programs. Your annual media subscription fees fully support the cost to support the infrastructure and needed
enhancements.

Throughout 2018, our team has been very busy with a variety of projects that effect the functionality and usability of the software platforms,
support and stability needs, and continuous improvement needs. So far this year, we have had 15 software releases including the LabWare 7
upgrade, launched a new support help desk, integrated into the Cat Inspect app tool, release several videos, and a wide variety of support
updates. Thank you for your support, and please continue to provide your input on what needs to be corrected as well as future enhancements
by contacting our new S·O·S help desk.
