INTERCULTURAL INNOVATION CHALLENGE

The Intercultural Innovation Challenge is a three-day session that will give you the opportunity to develop
the skill of intercultural empathy. You will get to participate in an intercultural training and practice your
English.
The activities include a Welcome Reception, an Intercultural Learning Workshop, a Scavenger Hunt in
Miraflores and Barranco, an Innovation Challenge, and a Walking Tour in the historic Center of Lima. Lunch will
be provided for two days.

Important Dates: July 14 – 16, 2019

Eligibility
Applicants must be UTEC students.
Students from all bachelor programs are invited to participate.
You must have approved at least 20 credits at the moment you're applying.

Registration
Videos must be uploaded in this registration link. You should not submit your video by email.
The closing date for submitting the video is on Friday, June 21st

You must complete and submit the online Application Form and upload your video. If the file is larger
than 100MB, you will be unable to summit the online form.

Selection
We seek the most promising UTEC students in terms of motivation and personal qualities, and
contributions. A total of 24 UTEC students will be selected for participating in the Intercultural Innovation
Challenge.

The Committee of Selection bases the evaluation considering the following criteria and aspects:
Originality
Motivations for participating in the activities
Fluency in English
The level of communication and soft skills

Presentation of Videos
Videos cannot be more than one-minute-long and not be larger than 100 MB. We suggest recording your
video in .avi format.

In the video you must mention the following aspects:

Introduce yourself
What does interculturality mean to you and why is it important?
Why do you want to participate in the Intercultural Innovation Challenge and meet Purdue
students?
General Rules
Every participant must fully agree terms and conditions.
If selected, it is mandatory to attend to all the three-day session's activities in the determined time and
place. It is not allowed to participate in just a few activities.
For participating in the Intercultural Innovation Challenge, it will be required to have availability
from 8:30 am to 6 pm on July 14th – 16th.
A certificate of participation will be issued to the students that complete all the activities described
above.
 Selected participants are required to accept or denied the vacant. Applicants who are not selected will
not be contacted.
