Chapter 14 – From the week's chapter reading, we learn from the authors that, the use of

mobile devices in our society today has indeed become ubiquitous. In addition, CTIA
asserted that over 326 million mobile devices were in use within The United States as of
December 2012 – an estimated growth of more than 100 percent penetration rate with
users carrying more than one device with notable continues growth. From this research,
it’s evident that mobile computing has vastly accelerated in popularity over the last decade
due to several factors noted by the authors in our chapter reading.
Q1: In consideration with this revelation, identify and name these factors, and provide a
brief discussion about them?

Social media via internet (face book etc.) and mobile (What's App) is the strongest and fastest
channel through which the information flow today. Peoples are smart enough now today in
capturing the events happening around them and uploading on social media sites. This is an
awareness media, we can say where information flow and people react. Even govt. now-a-days
uses the social media sites in order to get mass response towards policies the govt. wants to
implement (Pei Zheng, 2015). If we compare today's information technology world to that of 20
years back, then it can easily be realized that how fast is the information pass on from one place
to other and rate of spread of information as well. What's App has played the most remarkable
role in coming out to this point of time.
As anyone can share information on social site. It has disadvantage also. Due to independent and
open access/nature of information sharing on social media sites, fake news also spreads on and
create the state of confusion/chaos in society.
Further, now people have abandon of information and do not bother to apprise with all that
information. Therefore, we are in jungle of information and very few information bothers us and
rest is just lying in our gadget. We do not find ourselves get rid of that unusual information but
are left no other option rather to stuck with that only.

Facebook is the most popular social media website that is used by the population. A small event
may be spread worldwide in a single click over the mass population. It is in facebook's interest to
work with government to address the issues coming up due to undue popularity of an undeserved
issue and little coverage to deserved issue/policies. Even misunderstandings may also get cleared
when a positive ways is spread using the social media site like Facebook. The government must
understand that the social media sites are the strongest and fastest means that it may reach to
public.

Banking sector is the most impacted area where mobile and internet has played a crucial role.
Computational algorithms for interest calculation and accounts up keeping in digital formats has
been a great contribution by IT to banking sector (Manoj Kumar, 2011). It's just a click, we may
get the overall account information and along with many viewing rights and selection and sorting
options.

It's the e-currency now instead of paper currency that circulates in the market. Mobiles are now
handy to everyone and thereby mobile number is now the bank account number that can used to
track any banking transaction. Mobile number is tagged with every banking transaction so that
it's easy now to check the status of the transaction. ATMs has reduced the rush of customers at
bank premises to a lot in order to cater the need of withdraw and deposited transaction. This
saves time too to the customer and banking officials are relieved off this duty and can now
dedicate more time on economy enhancement and growth ideas.

A great check on black money is also possible with the use of digital transaction above curtail
amount. This enables to curb on black money circulation in the market. With the use of Internet
banking, online frauds threat has also become inevitable. Mobile has played a vital role in
curbing the online frauds. Mobile verification using OTPs keeps check on online frauds. Further
customers are alerted about any transaction that is being executed in their account. If any
undesired transaction occurs, customer can inform to the bank for necessary action.

Therefore Internet and Mobile works in tandem in online banking sector and have become the
backbone of the sector.

You have given very good answer to the question. I completely agree with your banking sector
point further, the customers may also see and transact with their account using internet banking
techniques. Long quest in banks for banking services has been reduced drastically and that at the
ease of the customer. With these options, banking sector is now equipped with more services to
their customers along with many options and timely delivery. More lending offerings are
possible now only due to various arithmetic computation algorithms.

I agree with your point with increasing social media connection their associated risk are also
getting increased. In order to control the fake information flowing on social sites, the policy
implementing and controlling authorities/agencies try to evaluate the contents of the information
using keywords and put some control over the fake news or objectionable content on flow. It's a
kind of safeguarding of information flow on social media sites.
