1. Exertion: (n) the use of a lot of mental or physical effort


e.g. I get out of breath with any kind of physical exertion.

2. Stunt: (n) an exciting action, usually in a movie, that is dangerous or appears dangerous and
usually needs to be done by someone skilled
e.g. It’s a typical action movie with plenty of spectacular stunts.

3. Debilitate: (v) to make someone or something physically weak


e.g. Chemotherapy exhausted and debilitated him.

4. Immortal: (adj.) living or lasting forever


e.g. The priest said he was endangering his immortal soul.

5. Wobbly: (adj.) likely to shake or move in a way that shows poor balance
e.g. The baby took a few wobbly steps towards me.

6. Repressed: (adj.) having feelings that you do not express openly


e.g. He turned on me suddenly, his voice dropping with repressed outrage

7. Indulge in (sth.): (v) to engage or take part in something, especially freely, avidly, and for
one’s own sake or pleasure
e.g. The college students indulged in childish pranks.

8. Handrail: (n) a long narrow bar that you can hold onto for support, for example when you
are going up or downstairs
e.g. Free runners tend to use public places as their field of play such as parks, stairs and
handrails.

9. Trespass on: (v) to enter or intrude on private or restricted land or property


e.g. He was sentenced five years in prison for trespassing on the military installation.

10. Lifeline: (n) a line (such as a rope) used for saving or preserving life
e.g. If it hadn’t been for the lifeline, John could have died during rock climbing.
