Victim or Villain Essay

Guy Montag is an interesting character that can be viewed by different people


in different ways. Will you argue that he is a victim or a villain?

This assignment will have no word count, but it will be at least fi ve paragraphs with at
least fi ve sentences in each. Each step will be worth 10 points with the body paragraphs
being 10 points each. Please write in Times New Roman 12-point font.

Victim: Guy Montag realized his wrongs and is working diligently to correct them.

Villain: Even though Guy Montag has now realized his wrongs, many books have already been
burnt by him and a woman is dead.

Step 1: Form Your Argument: Why are you choosing to argue this
way? Find three quotes from the book that argues whether Guy
Montag is a victim or villain.

Step 2: Outline: Write three reasons under each quote you find
that tell the readers how this quote backs up your argument.

Step 3: Introduction: Write a hook, a thesis, and tell your readers


why this argument is important.

Step 4: Body Paragraphs: Write about each point of your


argument separately.

Step 5: Conclusion: Summarize your paper and rewrite your


thesis statement here.

Step 6: Presentation: Tell your classmates about your argument


and the evidence you found to back it up.
