Activity
To successfully complete the assigned learning activity. I will prepare the students
in the classroom to learn/understand the historical stories of the above
individuals. To successfully complete this, I will spend a week covering each
individual and explain how he or she impacted Virginia. To complete this, I will
discuss in class each historical character as well as provide short films and fun
activity’s. I will also provide books as well as short films in the classroom to help
the students have a better understanding the history of a couple influential people
of Virginia.

By the end of the week, the students will have a better understanding of each
individual and how they impacted Virginia. The students will then complete a
storyboard to put their new knowledge into a graphic story. I will put the students
in groups of two and give each group a certain character, then they will need to
provide specific information about the historical character. The students will have
around an 1 hour in the school day to complete this activity. To receive full credit
on the story board they will have to meet specific criteria:
1) First scene must include: name of historical figure, birthdate, and death
date.
2) Second scene must include: A contribution this individual made to our
commonwealth
3) Third scene must include: why this contribution the historical person did to
our commonwealth was important to Virginia.
