The motion for today’s debate is THBT technology makes people
smarter, not dumber”

Before we come to our actual argumentation, I first would like to

define today’s motion.
So, the words technology or “animatronic” according to MacMillan
dictionary can be defined as an advanced scientific knowledge
used for practical purposes, especially in industry.
In short, our motion today is about technology. Technology is the
branch of knowledge that deals with the creation and related with
life, society, and the environment. We can’t deny that technology
is very significant in our lives especially in these 21 st century.
Everything is at the end of your fingertip.
For example, smartphone. Smartphone have become one of the
technology that is very significant in our life as we use it for daily
use. We go everywhere with smartphone and at one point we
even bring the smartphone to the toilet, right? and surprisingly
this is not something that is uncommon in our society. This is
actually very normal expecially among teenagers as teenagers
usually use technology to its full extent. I can say that people
nowadays cannot live without technology as technology revolve
around us and we have to accept that one thing for a fact.
It is actually amazing how everyone’s life is changing by through
the use of technology. All of these technology were created and
invented to provide comfort and convenient for every individual.
Introduce Today as the prime minister, I will be talking to you about how:
the 1) technology can improve your concentration
composition 2)technology will act as a platform for sharing knowledge and
idea

Our deputy of prime minister will elaborate more deeper about:

1) Technology itself is the evidence human is getting smarter
2) Technology elps ADS (less fortunate kids) smarter

And our 3rd speaker will rebut and sum up our team case

Before I go to my first point, I first would like to explain a bit about

The Flynn Effect.
What is The Flynn Effect?
The Flynn Effect is the tendency of IQ scores of generation to
change over time. Average IQ scores have been steadily
increasing every generation. This means that people are getting
smarter day by day.
The presence of the technology in these past few decades is said
to be one of the cause of this effect.

been possible because of modern technologies.

For example, law students back then have to go to library

nowadays can just access any website that provided by
the faculty to get the case law file in the form of pdf. It may
seems very simple yet it could actually saves a lot of time
and money.

Lots of data is being published and indexed online, sites

like Wikipedia and Youtube have great original content that
is regularly used for research or entertainment. With smart
gadgets like the iPad, iPhone, Galaxy tablets, users can
easily have access to a vast amount of information
wherever they are through the use of the internet on these
devices.

So a user on a train can easily read breaking news while

traveling, they can also buy and sell stocks while in the
bedroom or access their smart home temperature on the
go. These smart gadgets make it easy to access the
internet anywhere, and this simplifies the way we get
information.

Thus by the arguments I have provided, we the government

strongly believe that technology makes people smarter rather
than dumber.
