1.0 OBJECTIVE:
The objective of the SOP is to lay down the procedure for operation of Differential
scanning calorimeter.

2.0 SCOPE:
The scope of the procedure is applicable for the operation of Differential scanning
calorimeter.
3.0 RESPONSIBILITY:
3.1 Researchers:
Researchers of RERDS has to be responsible for the execution of the
SOP in the laboratory.
3.2 Research. Assoc. of the Department:
The Staff of the RERDS has to be responsible for the reviewing the “operational
procedure of Differential Scanning Calorimeter” records and also the execution of the
SOP properly.
3.3 HOD of the Department:
The HOD of the department has to be responsible to ensure that “operational Procedure
of Differential scanning calorimeter” is conducted properly as per the mentioned rules
and regulations.
4.0 ACCOUNTABILITY:

5.0 PROCEDURE:
5.1. Check it out the surroundings if it is not clean, clean it properly
5.2. Switch on the main power supply, connect the power cord to the appropriate
specifications of the special socket. After turning on the power supply turn on the power
switch at the right bottom of the refrigerator. This medical freezer has been preset to
temperature (3-50C) do not need to set temperature. To set deep freezer from room
temperature to -40 0C, it takes 2 ½ hours from turning on the instrument.
5.4. Check the chamber temperature whether it has reached the required temperature or not,
observe the medical freezer whether running normally for more than 24 hours.
5.5. After refrigerator temperature is normal and stable, you can put a small number of items
placed in the medical freezer.
5.6. Please store the goods in batches, each time shall be less than 1/3 items of the refrigerator
capacity. Try not to open the door in the process of cooling, otherwise it will cause
temperature rise.
6.1 In the normal running state, press and release the set button to display the temperature
setting value, and press the set button or wait for 15 seconds without operation to resume
normal temperature display.
9.1 After the alarm sound is artificially eliminated in the fault state, the fault delay alarm will
not start if a new fault occurs, the digital tube will flash to display the fault code, and the
buzzer will no longer alarm.
9.2 The fault delay alarm will not be effective until all faults have been eliminated and the

10.0 Defrost
The blood refrigerator will automatically defrost in the working process, which is
convenient to use. If the unit is not used for long time, please disconnect power supply
and maintain as the following procedures.
10.1 Ensure there is not any water around the liners to avoid the seal of door is frozen.

15.4 The product should be responsible by a special person, check the running state and record
every day (every 2-4 hours record and check) in case of failure or shutdown, the
temperature in the blood refrigerator will raise. If it cannot be repaired within a short
period of time, please take out the stored items and transfer them to a place that meets
their temperature requirements to avoid damage.
15.5 Before putting the samples into the blood refrigerator, the temperature required by the
samples should be confirmed in advance in accordance with the temperature range of the
blood refrigerator so as to avoid damage to the stored goods because the temperature of
the blood refrigerator does not reach the temperature required by the samples.
15.6 It is not allowed to use unauthorised electric appliances inside of the refrigerator.
15.7 Please make sure that there is a certain air circulation space around the chamber when
putting in the items, especially do not block the temperature sensor located inside of the
refrigerator otherwise it will affect the stability accurate display and control of the
chamber temperature.
15.8 Keep machines slides back at least 30 cm away from the wall.
15.9 Keep no obstacle at the machine ventilator.
15.10 Do not touch interior of freezer without proper hand protection while the freezer is
operating.
