games in Singapore in 2015 in “JUMPING CLASS” and now he is the coach of “Indonesia
horse Racing Club”

Franda : Good morning Mr. Ferry

Mr. Ferry : Good morning

Franda : Firslt i would like to ask you about horse racing in Indonesia. How do you think about
that?
Mr. Ferry : Horse racing in indonesia is still unpopular so that's why didn't much people
interest in this sport. But i'm proud that from 2011, 2013, 2015, Indonesia Won the Gold
Medal in the SEA GAMES for the “Dresage Class.” And in 2014 won a Gold medal on
“Jumping Class”
Franda: There is no many people who knows about horse racing specially for each class in horse
racing. So can you explain about class in horse racing?

Mr. Ferry: First is dressage is the highest expression of horse training, where
horse and rider are expected to perform from memory a series of
predetermined movements.

Franda: so the equestrian have done prepare about special movements with the horse before, and
show it in competition to get some poin?

Mr. Ferry: that’s right usually more harder the movements it can make the equestrian get more
poin
Franda: oke and then what is next class?

Mr. Ferry: next class is jumping class where men and women compete as
equals in both individual and team events In modern Jumping
competitions, horse and rider are required to complete a course of 10
to 13 jumps, the objective of which is to test the combination’s skill,
accuracy and training.

Franda: so in jumping class team work is key of successful in the competition because there are 2
equestrian who will perform in the competition, right?

Mr. Ferry: yes I think the hardest thing in jumping class is we have to maintain 2 horse to move
appropriate with what we want.

Franda: yes so that’s why an equestrian must to take care their horse properly. Is there more class
in horse racing?

Mr. Ferry: No, that’s all of horse racing class

Franda : How about the development of horse racing in Indonesia? Is there any
difference between old horse racing and horse racing now?

Mr. Ferry : Of course there are so many difference. For that time horse racing is a sport for
elite society only and Horse in Indonesia usually used as be public transportation as we
can see in traditional market but now horse can be a popular in sport such as polo and horse
riding or riding and so many people want to be equestrian now.

Franda : As we know that to be an equestrian is not easy, so can you tell us about how to
be a good equestrian? Is there any trick from you?
Mr. Ferry :To be a good equestrian is easy if you get a training properly and make sure that
you are happy to do it because happiness is key of our successful and more
important you need to love and take good care to your horse too.

Franda : Okay, thank you for you explanations. Can you mentions some of Indonesian
Equestrian? And who is your favorite indonesian equestrian?
