March 12th Lesson Focus: The focus of this lesson will be for students to understand the

instructions and requirements for their summative assessment on the hero’s


journey. Additionally, this lesson will be used primarily for students to work on
completing this project.

Objectives: Students will be able to identify the steps of the hero’s journey in their media of
choice - book, movie, tv show, etc.

Instruction

Opening (Hook or introductory activity):

The day’s lesson will start with the teacher going over the instructions and requirements for
the project.

Teacher will go over the alternative means of completing this project for the more advanced
students.
-These students will be asked to compare and contrast two different examples of the hero’
journey

Students will then have the opportunity to either select a partner to work with or go about it
solo.

Instruction:

Students will be given materials work to use to complete their project- poster boards, markers,
colored pencils, etc.

Teacher will walk around the classroom assisting as students work diligently on their projects.

Closing:

Students will store their projects in the back if they have not yet finished or turn into the
teacher if they are done.

Students and teachers will have a closing discussion on what the next day will look like.
