Directions:
1. First label each section of the MyPlate. Place the name in the outer rim of
the plate.
2. Then brainstorm and list food items you could place in each section.

1. Choose a food item for each section to create you MyPlate balanced meal.
2. Draw each food item in its corresponding section.
3. Color your meal and plate.

For you next step you are going to explain your meal to me.
1. Tell me the food you chose.
2. Tell me what section of MyPlate does that food belong to.
3. Tell me how you knew that food belonged to its section.
4. Why you chose that food.
- Some examples may be…I chose this because I like
that food, it is my favorite food, I want to try this
food, I saw this food on tv, or this food sounds
yummy.
Make sure you include all four steps for each of the foods included
in your meal. You should have 5 different MyPlate sections and 5
foods (one food item for each section). You can refer back to this
page to remember what to include!
