Miss Hilmer provided a comprehensive backward design lesson plan including relevant Pennsylvania State
standards, core vocabulary, aligned assessment, and individualized accommodations. She appropriately utilized
the district reading curriculum, including a scripted lesson and corresponding materials. Throughout the lesson
she promoted critical thinking by prompting students to review and reflect on context clues provided in the
reading. She maintained an excellent pace, tone, and successfully transitioned to various learning activities while
maintaining engagement. She effectively redirected students to the appropriate behavior if undesired behavior
was observed. Lastly, her cooperating teacher reports exceptional professionalism, and initiative.
