To whom it may concern:

I am pleased to recommend Ms. Angelica Painter to you as a new nurse candidate. I am one of Ms.
Painter’s faculty mentors/instructors while she has been enrolled in the Baccalaureate Nursing Program
at the University of Arizona. To date, Ms. Painter has provided excellent care for her patients. She is able
to integrate theory into clinical practice at the bedside, therefore enhancing both her academic and
clinical performance.

Some of the strengths that Ms. Painter possesses are her ability to be very compassionate with patients
and the ability to apply the critical thinking at the bedside. She not only completes each task, but
understands the reason why she is doing the task. She is a very conscientious and student and diligent
with her performance. Her ability to prioritize care for the patients had grown tremendously over the
past few semesters. She works diligently through challenging situations and is self-directed. Ms. Painter
quickly acquires learning new skills and once mastered she is self motivated to learn more. She fully
accepts the responsibility of advocating on behalf of patients and their families. In addition, Ms. Painter
has completed two 8-week summer intensive programs that helped enrich her overall learning as well as
enhance her community experience and critical thinking with simulated patient scenarios. This
experience has further expanded her education and has helped define the well-rounded person she has
become.

I support Ms. Painter’s application for employment at your facility. I believe that if she is able to pursue
her education with clinical application, she will make significant contributions to the nursing profession.
She has proven to be very mature, a team player and supportive of others. Additionally, I strongly
believe that she has the ability and characteristics to be a strong and effective leader in the field of
nursing. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have questions regarding her qualifications.

Sincerely,

Linda Perez, RNC
