To whom it may concern:

I am pleased to recommend Ms. Becky Patty to you as a nurse candidate. I have been one of Ms. Patty’s
faculty mentor/instructors while enrolled in the Baccalaureate Nursing Program at the University of
Arizona. To date, after completing several different clinical rotations, Ms. Patty has provided excellent
care for her patients. She is able to integrate theory into clinical practice at the bedside, therefore
enhancing both her academic and clinical performance.

I have seen tremendous growth in her ability to perform as a nurse since she started the program to the
present date. She has been part of the Arizona Nursing Inclusive Excellence Grant, which has added
additional support and opportunities throughout nursing school. Additionally, through the Grant, she
completed an 8-week summer intensive program that helped to enrich her overall learning as well as
enhance her community experience and overall critical thinking with simulated patient scenarios. This
experience has further expanded her education and has helped define the well-rounded person she has
become.

Some of the strengths that Ms. Patty possesses are her ability to be very compassionate with patients
and their families. She also fully accepts the responsibility of advocating on behalf of patients and their
families. She has the ability to critically think through situations and prioritize care for patients. Ms.
Patty works diligently and is able to be self-directed. In addition, she quickly acquires new skills and once
mastered she is self motivated to learn more. Her passion for nursing is one that she carries forward as
she works with patients and their families.

I support Ms. Patty’s application for a nurse candidate. I believe she will make significant contributions
to the nursing profession. She has proven to be very mature, a team player and supportive of others.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have questions regarding her qualifications.

Sincerely,

Linda Perez, RNC
