RE: SPONSORSHIP APPEAL

This letter serves as a request for assistance in any form, financial or material, to
help in the development as well as active participation of the University of
Botswana Athletics Club (UBAC) in various competitions throughout the athletics
season.

The University of Botswana Athletics Club is an affiliate of the Botswana Athletics

Association and exists as a fully registered club with the registrar of societies. It is
a club that is diverse in its membership with athletes ranging from fourteen years
old upwards. The club is administered by a committee with assistance and
technical expertise rendered by the Department of Culture, Sports and Recreation,
Physical Education and some members of the community. The club is based in
Gaborone and trains at the University of Botswana Stadium. The UBAC boasts a
strong team with members who have risen to the level of professionalism and
regularly compete at national, regional and international athletics meets on
national team duty, the most recent being the 2013 World Student Games which
were held in Russia as well as the Southern Africa Championships which were
held in Botswana.

The University of Botswana Athletics Club is currently solely dependent on

financial support from the University of Botswana Department of Culture, Sports
and Recreation. However, because of financial constraints within the university,
funding has since been limited and is therefore not sufficient to assist the club.
Since the club mostly comprises of tertiary students and out of school youth, we

often struggle with funds when preparing for competitions. Preparation costs may
include a monthly gym subscription, transport to and from training and
purchasing training gear. Furthermore, it is also with great dismay, considering
the calibre of athletes and the competitions they participate in, that the UBAC
team has to attend competitions without team attire.

The club intends for a mutually beneficial partnership between themselves and
their sponsor. As the University of Botswana Athletics Club we commit to driving
your mileage throughout all the athletics meets we partake in nationally and
worldwide.

Despite all these shortcomings, the athletes show such great commitment and
perseverance to their training and performance. UBAC certainly is a club of
upcoming elite athletes and in order to be successful, we need all the assistance
and support we can get. It is with that motive that we earnestly seek assistance.
