Objective
•  To evaluate the detergency characteristics, and oil consumption
properties of diesel crankcase lubricants in a high speed single cylinder
diesel engine. The deposits of main concern occur in the piston oil ring
groove and third land areas, and cause oil ring sticking and distress that
result in loss of engine oil control. The only difference between the two
tests is the level of Sulfur used in the fuel.
