To Respected Sir/Ma’am
Cover Letter
“The woods are lovely dark and deep, but I have promises to keep and miles to go before I
sleep”
- Robert Frost
When you want to be different, being mediocre is not an option. Most people dream of
becoming someone, but for me that someone is the person that I am going to become in 10 years. We
derive a sense of protection when we are enclosed in the dark, deep and familiar corners of our
comfort zones. However, life is all about forging ahead, challenging oneself and keeping our
commitments before our final sleep. My life’s mantra is to be different from the crowd and move
towards perfection; be it your professional or personal life and taking steps towards being better than
I was yesterday.
Born and brought up in a family of stone merchants, I’ve learnt a lot from the stones
themselves. There are billions of stones in this world of ours, but none are as famous as the mother
of all stone sculptures herself, The Great Sphinx of Giza. It is a testament to the skills of our
ancestors that a monument like that which was built solely from limestone has survived the ravages
of time over the centuries and has achieved immense historical significance today. Likewise, I too
want to carve a place for myself in this world, where I can retain my individuality, withstand life’s
arduous journey and ultimately become a person that everybody can look up to years down the line.
I have always been inquisitive, keen on learning something new. Academics has never been a
boundary but rather, something beyond the ordinary which involves both extra-curricular and co-
curricular activities. I have always been a straight-A student, having passed my X and XII CBSE
board exams with distinctions. I had the honour of receiving the Kulapati K. M. Munshi Award in
Mathematics, for securing 10/10 CGPA (A1) in all my subjects in class X CBSE Board exams.
Likewise, during my under-graduation program, I have consistently maintained a first class
with distinction pass percentage for all the semesters. In my fourth semester, I was selected for a
student exchange program at Baldwin Wallace University, Ohio, USA. While studying there for a
semester, I was mentioned on the Dean’s list for Academic Excellence. At Christ (Deemed to be
University), I have also pursued certificate courses in Parliamentary Practices and Procedures,
International Introduction to Securities and Investments Offered by The Chartered Institute for
Securities & Investment (CISI), London and a Digital Marketing course conducted by an alumnus of
my college. I am a Certified Management Accountant (CMA) professional, a professional course
offered by the Institute of Management Accountant (IMA). As a part of my course, I did my
corporate internship in NRB Bearings, Mumbai as a business operation intern and another internship
at the Student Affairs Office, Baldwin Wallace University as a Student Office Assistant.
On the extra-curricular front, I have strived to excel in various activities and shape my all-
round development. I was given a chance to represent my school, Bhartiya Vidya Mandir, Nagpur in
a National Integration Camp for an all India Bhavan’s meet at Kodaikanal in 2014. Following this, I
had a tryst with leadership after being elected as the School Captain (Senior) for the academic year
2014-2015 and organising my school’s Communal Harmony Week in 2014. During my three years
at college, I took part in various intra and inter college fests for Integration and Marketing held at the
national level. Additionally, I was a core committee member of Arthaprabhandha - the Finance Club
from 2015 to 2016.
While on my student exchange program to Baldwin Wallace University, USA, I was a member
of various student organisations such as BW TV, Habitat for Humanity and Investment Club.
Towards the end of the program, I was bestowed with the unique opportunity to become the first
international student to present an Ovation speech.
Since childhood, I have been passionate about philanthropy, having watched my father run his
NGO and accompanying him occasionally. In my twelfth grade, I initiated a movement, ‘I am
Responsible’, to increase Nagpur’s voting percentage for the Maharashtra Assembly Elections of
2014. Through various marketing techniques and incentives, we were able to increase Nagpur’s
voting percentage from 58.62% to 60.11%.
In my undergraduate college, I was a volunteer for Centre for Social Action (CSA) and was a
member of Drishti, a group that conducts street plays for social causes. I was a core committee
member of Parivarthana, the waste recycling unit of my college. For the year 2016-2017, I was the
leader of Prayatna, one of the four wings of CSA which looks after the college’s ecological works.
Having a highly engaged life at school and college didn’t deter me from pursuing my hobbies.I
love collecting paper bills, coins and stamps from different eras, dynasties, states and countries. I am
very passionate about travelling, as it helps me understand the world around me and meet new
people. Being gastronomic I love experimenting with food and savouring the local delicacies. Lastly,
I am a Penophile and own a small collection of intricate, innovative and rare pens that few people in
the world have access to.
I completed my Graduation in Bachelor of Commerce Honours with a major in Finance and
Investment at the prestigious Christ (Deemed to be University). Currently, I am pursuing Post
Graduate Degree in Management from IIM Shillong, Shillong. In the short run, I foresee myself as a
professional equipped with an MBA, who wants to carve a niche for himself as an iconic business
professional. Post this; I would like to establish a business empire of my own and create a service
which is convenient and beneficial for the society for the years to come.
I want to work with Deloitte for the following reasons:
1. Professional networking: I like connecting with like-minded people and working with Deloitte
will help me connect with professionals, thus forming a symbiotic relationship and gain business
acumen.
2. Knowledge acquisition: I have a zeal for learning about things beyond my sphere of knowledge
and working with Deloitte gives me the opportunity to amass both intellectual skills and
interpersonal skills.
Deloitte is one my dream place to work and I think with my perseverance and skill set I
would be an asset for Deloitte. I would be honoured and humbled to work with Deloitte.
Yours sincerely
