“ALL IT TAKES IS A leap of faith’’

Everyday there is a chance for you to make a new beginning in your life but what is important is that
you should be willing to take that the opportunity that comes your way.The same way I took four years
ago from today which made me the famous the lawyer you know today as Selena Williams.And indeed
it wasn’t easy for me to take this opportunity as I had completely given up on life because of loosing my
child and husband in an accident and that was the moment my world was completely shaken up
because I had no one to go back home,no one to cuddle ,pamper or love and all the aim I had to live life
was lost but I remember sitting on my couch crying about all I have lost and then suddenly I hear a
knock on my door and with o mood to open the door I ignore the door bell for a few times but when the
ringing doesn’t stop I got up and open the door with full rage ready to shout at the person who was not
letting me mourn the loss of my family.But when I open the door I see a women crying vigorously and
sitting down near the door with her knees bend,the rage within me had somewhwere softened when I
saw her crying and asked her to come inside and gave her some water to drink but she was no where
able to calm down and when she calmed down ,she introduced herself as Mellisa Mayor and then she
told me that she was here to request me to fight a case against her inlaws and husband who tried to kill
her because she was about to give birth a girl child and she had already suffered two miscarriages
before this pregnancy but because both the previous feotus were of a girl child they both were killed.I
was beyond shocked to hear what she said but was in no position to take the case as I had my own pain
to deal with but she forced me to take the case and she told me how she met my husband during a
walk in the garden with my daughter Susie when they were walking and saw her crying,my daughter
met her up and gave her some water and then she told my husband and Susie about how she was
forced to have an abortion and how once again she was in the same situation but then my husband had
advised her to consult a lawyer and file a case against her husband and inlaws for torturing her and he
had stated that the court would rule in her favour as he believed that principle of Ex turpi causa non
oritur actio would provide her justice so I guess that was the time when he would have given her our
adress and I decided that because of his faith in me I would take up the case

The days were passing by and I had gathered all my courage and decided to fight
this case for Melissa and get her justice for herself and her daughter and case was going on in the court
where I had clearly stated that it was a open and shut case as it was a clear case of injure non remota
causa sed proxima specatus but the defense lawyer argued that it was a violation of the principle of
audi alteram partem so the case was heard in the court and the entire country had set their eyes on
the judgement of the court as this would be a precdeing for many further case,I think a very famous
maxim Ex antecedentibus et consequentibus fit optima interetatio would be a governing factor
here.There were several false accusations made against melissa for her character but none of them
could be proved and after several hardships the judgement was given in favour of Melissa where the
court ruled that every child has a right to be born whether it is a girl or a boy and her inlaws and
husband were put behind the bars and there were advices for new laws to be created for protection of
girl child
 I still remember the day when I wasn’t willing to take the case but I took up the case because of my
husabnds believe in me and it surely proved out to be true as Melissa gave birth to her daughter and
named her Susie in memory of my daughter and she was the one who helped me rediscover my lost
touch with the case and give me a chance to have a leap of faith
