The Basic Photoshop CS5 Commands

===>Getting familiar with the Photoshop CS5 application 

window is a great way to get your bearings before diving into 

Photoshop's tools and commands. 

Here are a few basic pointers:

=>Launch Photoshop by clicking the Start menu or an icon on the 

taskbar (Windows) or clicking the Photoshop icon on the Dock

(Mac).

=>You can also double-click a Photoshop shortcut or alias on your desktop.

=>Open an image by choosing File→Open. 

If you have several images open at a time, 

cycle through them by pressing Ctrl+Tab (Windows) or Control+Tab (Mac).

=>Sometimes you need to see more detail in a photo. 

Zoom in by pressing Ctrl (Command on the Mac) + the plus sign key. 

=>When you’re done editing, zoom out by pressing Ctrl + the minus sign key

(Command + the minus sign key on the Mac).

=>Scroll an image by pressing the spacebar and then dragging.

=>Set your preferences by choosing 

Edit→Preferences (Windows) or Photoshop→Preferences (Mac).

=>Arrange and combine panels, customize the Options bar, 

and modify menu and keyboard shortcuts to how you work best. 

=>Then save your workspace to use again 

by choosing Window→Workspace→New Workspace.

To Write a Text in Image
Click on the 'T' icon in the left side bar (that is the text icon). 

If the toolbar is not on the left side, click on the tab at the top called 

'Windows' and check 'Tools' and it will appear.

Now, move your cursor over the text area that you want to edit and 'right click' and it will be highlighted. 

Now you start typing the text. 

You can also move this text around by moving the cursor just below the text until an arrow with crosshairs appears. 

Right click and move your mouse until you have the text where you want it. 

Then left click and it is now moved.

photoshop CS$ and CS5 almost same so am using CS4
Many Have A doubt How To select onlyy some partt of the Picture ???? What Steps To be Follwed ??First u Need To Seletc a PIC!
Click on File Option ===>then click Open

Or

U ca Directly Press Ctrl+O ..

Then that open page will open U can Select ur Picture From the list .. And then Click OPEN..

To change a background image

In this tutorial, you are going to learn the methods to 

change the background of an image. 

If you want to try this then this tutorial will definitely 

help you with some simple steps. 

So follow these given steps below. 

Let's start

First you have to open an image in which you want to change the background image.

And also open another image to add as background image.

Selecting: Make selection by polygonal lasso tool (L key) of the image which you want to add.
Inverse: After selection, go to select menu and click on inverse and press DEL key 

to remove unselected part of image as you have to add another background image.

Convert Black & White Image to Color Image 
This tutorial has some easy steps to learn without any doubt. 

Let's Start
Open A Pic Here I have a black and while photo of a childs 
Selection: 

Now select the part of body you want to color. 

Select polygonal lasso tool and select head.

If your first selection is completed and you want to add another selection then you have to use polygonal lasso tool by holding shift key, 

when completed your selection leave the shift key.

As I selected in the image 

Color Setting: 

Now you have a selected black and white image to add color. 

Go to image > Adjustment > Color Balance and set the color as given below
Add Brightness and Contrast: 

To change the brightness and contrast of your image, 

go to image > Adjustment > Brightness/Contrast and set the value as given below 
Use Curves: Use curves as given below.

"Object"---> green color box [where u get effect,cartoon.etc etc ] select "Photo" ---> then open the folder containing these materials and use them in editing your pic

How to remove an object from a picture

If you want to remove an object, which you don't want to 

like in your picture then there is no need to worry. 

Just follow these easy steps in this tutorial....

Open a file: First open a file to modify. I have opened a 

file of a river.

Select Clone stamp tool

Click with ALT key near of that part you want to remove.

Move your clone stamp and hold mouse on the object to 

remove

How to make an older picture

In this tutorial we are going to convert a photograph into a old photo, it is not tough now because you have a golden chance to learn this effect by my this example. It is fully step
by step described. 
First we have to open a picture to given a older picture effect.

Grayscale is used to make color less picture so apply it,

go to Image menu > Mode > Grayscale.

Go to 

Filter Menu > Noise > Add Noise and make adjustment as here.
Go to

Filter Menu > Blur > Gaussian Blur and make adjustment as I have done here.
We can give sharp effect to the picture 

by the levels option so go to

Image Menu > Adjustment > Level and make adjustment as given here.
