STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

1. What does social media give to its users such that it has become vital to daily life?

2. Does depressive manifestations vary depending on the rate of use on social media?

2.1 Does social media users who are categorized in the “high use group” will have the
highest rate of depressive symptoms?

2.2 Does social media users who belong to “low use group” will have lower of depressive
symptoms?

3. What are the interventions that could be done to lessen social media use that can lead to
depression?
RESEARCH DESIGN AND METHODOLOGY

This chapter displays the information and explanation of the research design,

respondents of the study, data gathering procedure utilized by researchers in relation

for gathering and analyzation of data for evaluation.

RESEARCH DESIGN

In order to discern the existing problem of degenerative effects of the grade 11

students, the type of study that uses standard social research methods for evaluative

purposes, as researchers used an Evaluation research design. Evaluation research can

be defined as a specific research methodology, and as an assessment process that

employs special techniques unique to the evaluation of social programs. After the

reasons for conducting evaluation research are discussed, the general principles and

types are reviewed

Additionally, the researchers’ used information gathered by the survey

questionnaires conducted.

SOURCES OF DATA

The initial overall sample for this study included __ seventh grade students, __

males and __ females, ranging in age from __ to __, from grade 7 St. __ of Colegio de

Santa Ana.

In what has the researchers observed, the misbehaving group consisted of

mostly male students from which was conclusively determined through the researcher’s
observation and the class president’s asservation who provided remarks on fellow peer

behaviours. Such misbehaviour was defined by meeting one or more of the following

requirements: repetitive oral reprimands by teachers, and being inappropriate in the

classroom settings, which mainly required intervention from teachers.

POPULATION

The population of the researchers’ respondents is an estimate of 30 students of

the 10th grade. The researchers chose the class of St. Thomas Aquinas to collect

observable data from.
