Q: What outcomes should BP collect to determine the effectiveness of the first level
leader development program? What Evaluation design should it use?
Ans: The main emphasis of leader development program is employee training in order to
induce in them the element of common skill. It can be achieved by training. Major parts
comprised of learning of various skills i.e. learning how to manage achieving organizational
goals in a limited time period. Hence, the training enables the managers their respective
teams efficiently and effectively. This also enables the managers to implement massive turn
around policies for companies making them more profitable.
Moreover, BP company should use the following evaluation designs:
1. Summative Evaluation: It is used, to evaluate the outcomes of training to managers.
That how effectively do they manage the team now.
2. Solomon four group design: It should be used by BP company. It is indeed the
combination of pre-test/post-test comparison group and post-test only group design.
In the Solomon four group design the outcome and results of two types of groups are
evaluated before and after training program. One of them is training group. Whereas,
the other is known as the comparison group.
