The vignette sharpens

The focus turns towards the light

I squint with hands stretched before my face

A figure emerges from the distance

Drawing closer with each step

Details fill the abstract silhouette

It shades my eyes from the beams

It is you, staring right at me

I stare back and ask

“Why are you here?”

Before I hear you talk

Sudden blur struck my eyes

I could only hear static

The vignette sharpens

My eyes are fixed on the sky

No longer were you before me

My consciousness sinks back

I wake up
