Answer:-
Displacement:- it is the shortest distance between initial and final position of an object in motion during a
particular interval of time. – ½ mark
Distance:- it is the actual path length between initial and final position of an object in motion during a
particular interval of time. – ½ mark
Average Speed:- Time rate of change of position of an object during a particular interval of time is called
Average speed. Mathematically,
Average Velocity:- Time rate of change of displacement of an object during a particular interval of time is
called Average velocity. Mathematically,
Q:-2 A boy walks to his home at a distance of 3 Km with constant speed of 6 Km/Hr and retuns back with a
constant speed of 9 Km/Hr. Find - 3 Marks
Ans:- 1) Displacement = Zero (Because initial and final position will be same)
Total Distance = 3 + 3 = 6 Km - 1 mark
3
2) Time taken in onward journey = = ½ Hr
6
3
Time taken in return journey = = 1/3 Hr - ½ mark
9
1 1 5
Total Time taken = Hr = 50 Mintues - ½ mark
2 3 6
6 66
Average Speed = = = 7.2 Km/Hr - ½ mark
5 5
6
Average Velocity = zero , because his displacement is zero – ½ mark
Q:-3 With the help of following data of motion of an object , draw a position time graph and from this graph
answer the following - 3 Mark
Position 10 20 30 40 50
(in metre)
Time 2 4 6 8 10
(in Seconds)
1) Slope of position time graph.
2) Velocity of object
Ans:-
- 1 marks
Q:-4 An object start from rest (Its initial velocity is zero) and picks up speed of 36 Km/Hr in 2 in minutes
(assuming it is moving with constant acceleration). Find its uniform acceleration in metre/second.- 2 – marks
Ans: -
We have:- v = u + at ; - ½ mark
5
v = 32 Km/Hr = 36 = 10 m/s
