Product description
The Stryker model 4402 N ä r a ® Hospital Bassinet consists of a base cabinet, two- way drawers, retractable work surface,
five inch soft-wheel casters, a clear basket, and mattress. The basket allows for easy access to the infant / newborn patient,
tilts, and latches securely onto the base cabinet.
Intended use
The N ä r a Hospital Bassinet is a sleeping surface for infant / newborn patients from birth to five months of age. The product
has a tilting basket to allow visibility of the patient by hospital staff and family members. The top surface of the device raises
and lowers to allow easier access to the infant / newborn. The product can come in contact with healthy skin.
This product is for use with infant / newborn patients as a sleeping surface.
The bassinet is for use in infant / newborn clinical care settings; such as:
• Labor and delivery units
• Neonatal intensive care units
• Other patient care rooms
This product is not intended for patients that can crawl or reposition themselves independently.

Have the unit number of your basket (A) or mattress (B) available when calling Stryker Customer Service or Technical
Support. Include the unit number in all written communication.
Setup
During setup, unpack the cartons and check all items for proper operation. Make sure that the product is working properly
before it is put into service.
Remove all shipping and packaging materials from the product prior to use.

5. Using a 3/8” nut driver, remove the two nuts (AB) that secure the trend catch (AA). Save the nuts.
6. Grasp both sides of the top cover cradle (U) and pull upward until the bottom and the top cover V e l c r o ® separates.
7. Remove and discard the cradle top cover.
8. Reverse to install.
N o t e - Once the top cover is in place, firmly press on the top cover to make sure that the V e l c r o ® is secure.
9. Verify proper operation before returning the product to service.
N o t e - Lower the unit all the way down to help minimize the column dropping.
4. Using a T15 Torx driver, remove the four screws that secure both columns to each valance bracket.
N o t e - The entire column and drawer assembly should now rest on top of the base cover.
7. Using a rubber hammer, strike the top cradle bracket, near the cylinder to disengage the bracket from the cylinder top.
Repeat on opposite side.
8. Using a workbench or table, flip the top assembly upside down and using a T15 Torx driver remove and save the six
screws (AP) and washers (AN) that secure the two valance brackets.
9. Working from one side of the assembly, firmly pull upward on the cradle bottom cover to remove and discard.
10. Reverse to install.
11. Verify proper operation before returning the product to service.
N o t e - Lower the unit all the way down to help minimize the column dropping.
4. Using a T15 Torx driver, remove the four screws that secure both columns to each valance bracket.
N o t e - The entire column and drawer assembly should now rest on top of the base cover.
Note
• Carefully pull down on the corner of the cradle bottom cover to gain access to the screws.
• During reinstall, apply loctite blue threadlocker to a minimum of 3 threads to L.
7. Remove and discard the push bar.
N o t e - Remove and save the two rubber sleeves from the push bar.
8. Reverse to install.
9. Verify proper operation before returning the product to service.

Procedure:
1. Apply the brakes.
2. Pull open the drawer.
3. Using a T10 Torx driver and 5/16” wrench, remove the two screws that secures the drawer slide to the drawer. Save the
screws.
4. Using a T15 Torx driver, remove the screw (E) and washer (F) (Figure 11) that secures the drawer slide to the column.
Save the screw.
5. Open the same drawer from the opposite side and repeat step 4.
6. From the open drawer, pull the drawer slide tab out of the drawer.
7. Open the same drawer from the opposite side and repeat step 6.
8. Remove and discard the entire drawer slide assembly.
9. Reverse to install.
10. Verify proper operation before returning the product to service.
N o t e - Lower the unit all the way down to help minimize the column dropping.
2. Using a T15 Torx driver, remove the four screws (E) and washers (D) (Figure 13) that secures both columns to each
valance bracket.
N o t e - The entire column and drawer assembly should now rest on top of the base cover.
3. Using 5/32” hex wrench, remove the eight screws (D) and washers (C) that secures the cylinder bracket to the top
cradle bracket for the gas cylinder you are replacing. Remove both sides. Save the screws.
4. Using a rubber hammer, strike the top cradle bracket, near the gas cylinder to remove the cradle bracket from the gas
cylinder.
5. Remove the cradle assembly and supports, to gain access for the removal of the gas cylinder.
6. Lift up and remove the cabinet / drawer assembly. Set aside for reinstall.
7. Using a 5/32” hex wrench, remove the two screws securing the column support bracket. Save the screws.
8. Using a 3/16: hex wrench, remove the screw (AJ) and spacer (AH) from the lower guide tube (Figure 14).
9. Using the needle nose pliers, remove the gas cylinder clip. Save the clip.
