The cycle rickshaw arrived to India in 1880, these are japans origin.

Later it was used as a private

vehicle by the rich and the affluent class. With time, the rickshaw didn’t just have social, cultural,
economic and environmental implications but it had great impacts on the urbanizing cities as a
vehicle/mode of transportation in general. The first attempt of improving the existing cycle
rickshaws and then converting them to the electric ones was done by the Nimbkar Agricultural
Research Institute in the late 1990s

The rickshaw arrived in Colombia at the beginning of 2000 as a solution to traffic problems and
reached public transport, although currently for the Ministry of Transport does not count as a
means of transport, makes it easier for a large part of the citizens to move To places where the
integrated transport system is not covered but in the 2018 approved a resolution where it
authorizes to work on points selected by the Colombian government.

El bicitaxi llego a Colombia a inicios de 2000 como una solución a los problemas de trafico y
alcanza del transporte público, aunque en la actualidad para el ministerio de transporte no cuenta
como un medio de transporte, facilita que gran parte de los ciudadanos se desplacen a lugares
donde el sistema integrado de trasporte no tiene cubrimiento, pero en el 2018 aprobó una
resolución en donde autoriza a trabajar en puntos seleccionados por el gobierno colombiano.
