Global warming is the most significant environmental problem facing us today.

Do you agree with the

statement?

Global Warming is a term almost everyone is familiar with. For many years our climate is determined
by patterns of temperature, wind, atmospheric pressure, humidity and rain. But its meaning is still
not clear to most of us. Global warming is a gradual rise in the overall temperature of the atmosphere of
the Earth. Global warming causes glaciers melting and extreme weather events. That is extremely
harmful to the earth as well as humans.

Firstly, one of the most obvious effects of Global Warming is extreme weather. The weather
patterns are rapidly changing in all parts of the world. For instance, according to this winter in
Lithuania we can see a drastic change in heat during the summer and cold in the winter. What is
more, the raise of extreme weather situations has a big influence for many industries such as
agriculture, tourism and transportation that are really important in order to fight with the global
warming.

Secondly, Global Warming has a big influence on glaciers melting. Human activities are at the root
of this phenomenon. Specifically, since the industrial revolution, carbon dioxide and other
greenhouse gas emissions have raised temperatures, even higher in the poles, and as a result,
glaciers are rapidly melting. According to the statistical data the most striking fact is that the sea-
level rise accelerates 0.12 inches per year in overage worldwide.

In conclusion, I am of the opinion that scientists are attempting to announce dangers of the global
warming but multiple people still refuse to admit these problems. This is the biggest problem of our
century that our society needs to fight with.
