Final Reflection

HLAC-1030
This is my first semester here at SLCC. When I think about what I have learned and/or studied in
this class compared to the other classes I took this semester, I think of my English 1010 class. I think of
this class because I took it online, so a lot of the work was participation based. Whereas this class is
mainly participation based, you always have to stay involved. At the beginning of class we were told
about the Modules and how we needed to make sure to check Canvas to get those completed. Since I
was set on staying on top of everything, I was checking Canvas daily, sometimes multiple times a day,
force of habit. What I have learned and took away from all of this, especially during this time and the
remaining of class being online is to just sit down and do it. Stay involved by doing assignments before
they are do rather than last minute, and by taking a half hour each day to see what needs to be
completed.

Before taking this class, I have always wanted to get into fitness. I love going to the gym, when I
go, but it’s the making myself go part that is hard. Another part that makes it hard is I enjoy the way I
feel after, but it’s not enjoyable to go to the gym by yourself, doing the same things, I have never found
what I loved to do fitness wise. Kickboxing is something I have always wanted to try because I have only
heard good things about it. Good things about how fun it is and the results. Kickboxing doesn’t feel like a
workout, this class didn’t feel like a workout... most days… it was just so fun do be doing with all these
great people. I never felt like I couldn’t get myself to go to this class, I enjoyed it and looked forward to
it. It’s awesome to have found something I love and want to continue doing and something I don’t have
to force myself to do. I don’t think any of our modules or assignments influenced my change and
thoughts with this class, it was more going and experiencing it. For the future, this is something I want to
continue along with lifelong wellness, drinking more water, exercising more, all of it.
