link between human resource management and the overall strategic plan of an organization.

At Kataria Automobiles, for human resource planning, they first check the last year’s
manpower and their performance.

If the manpower is low, they go for recruiting new employees and if the performance of the
existing employees is not up to the mark they are sent for training or given 3 months warning
period.

For human resource planning, they also ask various departmental heads, i.e. if they are in
need of any manpower.
3. Recruitment and Selection

3.1 Process:

i. Receiving Application:
At Kataria Automobiles, the recruitment process starts with receiving applications from
prospectus applicants. They generally receive applications from peoples through
advertisements, references of present employees, campus placement. Sometimes they also
receive applications from direct comers. Direct comers are those who are in search of a job
and by themselves visit the showroom to apply for a job.

i. Test:
Received applicants are called for a Test. This test is in the form of a paper-based test. These
tests are coducted to check the attitude and aptitude of applicants. Test papers are checked by
HR executives.

ii. HR interview:
The person who clears the test is called for an interview which is conducted by the HR
manager. HR manager checks the person’s communication skills.

The person who clears the tests is also eligible to give an interview to GM.

The person who clears both the interviews is selected for 1 month on the job training. During
this period the person is taught about how to communicate with customers and all the
information related to cars.

Off-the-job training methods are conducted in separate from the job environment, the study
